Suggested January 2024 10+ Reasons Why Your Keyboard Arrows Are Not Working (Solved)

Most people cannot do without their laptops or PCs because of the many functions they’re capable of performing. For this reason, if your keyboard arrows stop working, it can be pretty inconvenient.

However, you can efficiently resolve the problem in a few easy steps like those depicted in this article.

Read on to find out the solution that works for you!

Sometimes, restarting any technological device will resolve any issue that it has. For that reason, trying to restart your laptop or PC can fix the keyboard arrows not working problem.

Also, if your computer has a detachable keyboard, restart it too. This method will clear any bugs or excess cache that may distort your software.

Sometimes your keyboard problem might result from dirt or debris stuck under the keyboard arrows.

To know if this is the issue, try random keyboard arrows and see if some of them work. If they do, then it means you need to get the keyboard cleaned.

For some keyboards, you can take off the keys mechanically, one by one, or as a whole.

After taking out the keys, clean with a slightly wet cloth and let the device air dry for a few minutes. It’s imperative to note that it’s better to wet the cloth with isopropyl alcohol than water because water may further destroy your device.

Alternatively, try removing any loose dirt/debris lodged in the spaces between and under the keyboard arrow keys by using a can of compressed air.

If you can’t take out the keys, you will need to take the device to a professional to open your keyboard and clean it for you, thus making the work easier.

If you have screwdrivers and some professional knowledge, try opening the device on your own to clean it.

If your keyboard can detach from your laptop, then the hardware that connects the Keyboard and display could have an issue.

On the other hand, if you have connected your Keyboard to your computer via a USB cable, follow the steps below to find a solution.

Confirm whether the hardware that connects the keyboard to the display screen is broken. If so, you need to get it fixed professionally.

If your Keyboard connects to the display via a USB cable, confirm whether it’s as firm as it should be.

If it’s firm, the USB cable may be spoilt and needs to be replaced. Alternatively, it could be that the laptop port you are using is faulty, so trying another one might work.

Keyboard drivers often start glitching because of too much cache or corrupted data, such as third-party add-ons.

In such a case, you will need to uninstall and then reinstall your app so that all excess cache gets deleted. To rectify the problem, follow the steps below:

Technology keeps evolving, and so you need to update your laptop systems constantly to keep up. For that reason, your Keyboard arrows can stop working because their drivers are outdated.

To rectify this problem, follow the steps below:

      6. You can either choose to Browse my computer for drivers, and Windows will show you available drivers on the web that you can download, then ask for permission to install

Often when your keyboard stops working, chances are, you mistakenly enabled the scroll lock key.

If you don’t know what that is, it’s because modern laptops hardly need it, so only a few brands still include it in their keyboards.

This method is for laptops with a keypad with more than 104 keys.

Search your keypad for the scroll lock key abbreviated as SCRLK. Most times, it’s close to the Pause key.

If the SCRLK has a small, illuminated light, press it and check whether the problem has been resolved

If you didn’t find the Scroll lock key on your windows laptop, you would need to use the on-screen keypad. Here is how:

All windows laptops have an in-built troubleshooting feature for most of their common glitches, such as faulty keyboard arrows. If your device has this feature, follow the steps below:

Your Keyboard works according to several settings you could tweak to your liking.

However, sometimes, your chosen settings could cause your Keyboard to start acting up. Here is how to resolve the said issue:

Considering we download plenty of things on our laptops, it could be that your device is infected with a virus causing your keyboard keys not to work as they usually should. In this case, try and run a malware scan using your inbuilt antivirus checker and see if it finds anything worth removing.

Alternatively, you can download a free antivirus checker or a paid one from the internet and run a malware scan.

The sticky keys are hardly the problem causing your keyboard arrow keys to be faulty. However, many users have reported that enabling sticky keys often solves their problem. For this method, here is how to go about it:

Though this is rarely the case, Excel add-ins can cause the whole Keyboard to start glitching as they often have bugs. If this is the case, you can quickly delete all the add-ins and add them back one by one till you find the one with the problem.

To do so, follow the steps below:

Wireless keyboards are convenient, mainly because they make the laptop more portable. However, they come with their own set of problems.

So, if your wireless Keyboard isn’t working, try these quick fixes:

If yours is a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard, check that Bluetooth is powered on and connected to the display screen

Disconnect the Bluetooth pairing between the Keyboard and the display screen, then reconnect them again

Try a different USB port or a different USB to connect the Keyboard to the display screen

Confirm whether the Keyboard’s battery level is sufficient. If not, connect it to the charge, then try connecting it to the display later.

Find the seam between the top and bottom of the laptop and then try to separate the two. However, not all laptops can be separated like that because some need to be screwed open.

It might be a software issue such as faulty drivers or an enabled scroll lock key, Alternatively, it could be a hardware issue such as a broken connection between the display and the keyboard, or a spoilt USB.

Confirm that the brand of canned air you have is ideal for laptops because some have too much pressure that may damage your device

           Switch off your device

Turn your laptop upside down so that any loose debris may fall out

Attach the straw that comes with the can of compressed air to its designated spot

Blow the compressed air from different angles until you are satisfied that all debris has been removed

Clean around the laptop keyboard with a wet swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol and leave the laptop to air dry.

If the keyboard keys work in other sites besides Excel, then the problem lies in your downloaded Excel add-ins. Try uninstalling your add-ins and try the arrow keys again.

Your Keyboard not working on your laptop will likely be inconvenient, especially if you have pending tasks to complete. Lucky for you, the troubleshooting methods above will often solve whatever the issue is without requiring any technical knowledge.

In the unfortunate event that nothing works for your particular case, you will need to take your laptop to a professional to get it checked. Chances are, the issue may lie with the computer’s hardware, and you might have to buy a new one.

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy A Mechanical Keyboard

There you are, sitting on your office chair. Feeling comfortable and good about yourself. Let me tell you something. You are lost. You are a nobody. Why? Because you don’t have a mechanical keyboard in your life! Like some evangelical preacher, I have an idea I need to sell you. That is the glory of the mechanical keyboard. If you accept the mechanical keyboard into your life, you could be experiencing increased comfort, improved productivity, and glory! It will change the way you type forever! Don’t just ask me, there are plenty of fanatics that have forever converted from using cheap, rubber-dome keyboards to high-quality mechanicals. I have made a short list of five reasons why you should switch to a mechanical keyboard. I have faith that you will see the light.

The second reason why you need to switch to a mechanical keyboard is ergonomics. Mechanical keyboards generally have higher quality keycaps which are rounded to let your fingers rest on them more comfortably. Traditional laptop keys, with the exception of Lenovo’s, are flat. Flat keys are good for space-saving designs but you not only lose precision, but also comfort. I find flat keys uncomfortable to type on for long periods because I have to hit them “head on” in order not to make an error. Also, it is very easy to hit these keycaps on the corners which will cause your fingers to slip and mis-type. If you hit the corner of a keycap on a mechanical keyboard, you still have a good chance of registering the input. The longer “throw” of mechanical keyboards are also more comfortable for long typing sessions compared to the short engagement point of chicklet-style keyboards. For a long time, I thought the main attribute of an ergonomic keyboard is shape. After using the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard for 2-3 years and using my Leopold Tenkeyless for about 5 months, I realize that it’s not about the shape. The main reason mechanical keyboards are better is the key switches.

The third benefit is reduced strain. I realize this is closely related to comfort but I felt that this deserved its own section simply because of RSI(Repetitive Strain Injury). We use our computers for hours and some of us do not take RSI seriously. I take good care of my hands. And so should you. For most people, their hands are their livelihood. Hand health is very important if you are a musician, laborer, or athlete. One thing I’ve notice after spending a few months with my mechanical keyboard compared to keyboards of my past is finger pain. I use to get finger pain after prolonged typing on the rubber dome keys. They were all I knew so I didn’t question. It wasn’t until I was in the market for a better keyboard where I found out about mechanical key switches. Subsequently, it wasn’t until I was typing on them for hours until I realized my finger pain was mainly caused by the cheap rubber-dome keyboards. If you are on the computer for hours, or if your profession involves extensive amounts of typing, consider investing on a mechanical keyboard for this very reason. These key switches will reduce finger strain. Your hands will thank you.

The fourth benefit of using a mechanical keyboard is improved speed. A more precise, comfortable keyboard means improved typing speed. I was never a speed typist. Barely being able to type 25 WPM, after a few months of serious training, I can now type 60-70 WPM. Your mileage may vary but you will improve your speed. If not in burst typing, definitely in endurance typing. That’s typing long essays or reports. Wiki has the average typing speed rated at 33 WPM. If you are over this, you are doing very well.

The last and most important reason why you need a mechanical keyboard? They’re fun! That may sound silly to say but after getting one, I now enjoy typing. I like the sound of these Cherry MX browns. Some people like the blues. You can’t go wrong either way. They’re great to type on. Mechanical keyboards have their own unique personalities. From the simple Leopold Tenkeyless to the highly sought after HHKB Pro 2. Typing shouldn’t be a chore. Most people probably won’t be competing on typeracer for leisure, but mechanical keyboards will make you smile. It’s like buying a luxury car. Sure, you don’t NEED leather heated seat with power everything but if you can afford it, why not treat yourself? Especially a tool that you will spend years using. Once you punch the keys, you will see the light

How To Fix Emoji Keyboard Not Working In Windows 11

Emojis are visual representations of emotion that we often use in messaging to convey feelings and liven up a chat with others while conversing via email, Telegram, WhatsApp, and other platforms. However, the Emoji keyboard or Emoji panel, a built-in feature of Windows PCs, also allows you to add emojis to text in a number of different computer apps. The most popular approach to enable this function is by simultaneously hitting the Windows +. or Windows + ; keys. It is quite simple to use.

Unfortunately, some Windows 11 users have complained that their Emoji keyboard is not working, and it is understandable how upsetting it can be when a feature on your computer is unavailable to you because of incorrect configurations or a minor issue. Hence, if you are experiencing the same issue, you are in the right place, as we are going to examine the main causes of the problem in the next section of this article, as well as proven solutions to fix it.

Possible Reasons for Emoji Not Working in Windows 11 Issue

Since the emoji keyboard can majorly be activated through the keyboard shortcut, this issue is majorly related to keyboard issues. Hence the possible causes of emoji not working in Windows 11 are:

Disabled keyboard shortcut settings: If the keyboard shortcut is disabled or is not working on your computer, you will most definitely have issues with opening the emoji keyboard since that is what you need to open the feature.

Outdated keyboard driver: Features related to the keyboard on your computer are controlled by the keyboard driver. Hence, if your keyboard driver is outdated or damaged, that may be the reason why you are experiencing the emoji keyboard not working issue on your Windows 11 computer.

Third-party app conflict: Some third-party apps, like keyboard apps, may also affect the functioning of the emoji keyboard on your computer.

Tampered keyboard settings: If you unknowingly tampered with your computer’s keyboard settings.

Faulty keyboard: It is also possible that some keys are not functioning on your keyboard, and as a result, you won’t be able to activate the emoji keyboard if the keys to open it are also affected.

The emoji keyboard feature can also have been turned off, in which case it won’t function. However, based on these factors and how some users resolved the issue, we will explain the best solutions to fix emoji keyboard not working in Windows 11 in the following section of this post.

Fix Emoji Keyboard Not Working in Windows 11

It is recommended that when you experience the emoji keyboard not working in Windows 11 issue on your computer, you should first disconnect peripherals like the keyboard from the computer and then restart the computer. If the issue persists after doing that, then you should perform the following solutions:

          1. Make sure Emoji Panel Shortcut  is Enabled

The emoji panel can be accessed on your Windows computer by using a keyboard shortcut, but if the keyboard shortcut has been disabled, the emoji keyboard won’t function no matter how long you press the shortcut. This could be the cause of the problem you are experiencing on your Windows 11 computer, but by following the steps below, you can reactivate the emoji panel shortcut:

          1. Press Windows + I simultaneously to open the Run command box on your computer.

          2. Type regedit in the box and hit Enter.

          3. You will be led to the Registry editor window, where you should navigate to the path below:

          ComputerHKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftInputSettingsproc_1

          6. Then set the Value data to 1 and hit OK to activate the emoji panel shortcut.

After this, you should restart your computer so the changes can take effect.

          2. Reset Keyboard Settings

Resetting your keyboard settings will also be recommended for you if the emoji keyboard on your Windows 11 computer isn’t working. If incorrect keyboard settings caused the problem, this will be useful because it will restore the settings to their default.

          1. Press Windows + I to open Settings on your computer.

          3. Now, if your preferred language is already at the top, tap the three-dot in front of it and select Move down.

          4. After that, tap the three-dot in front of the same preferred language again and select Move up.

Changing your preferred language will reset the keyboard setting and thereby fix the emoji keyboard not working issue on your Windows 11 PC.

          3. Temporarily Disable/Uninstall Third-Party Keyboard

Emoji keyboard only functions with the built-in Windows keyboard, so if you have TouchPal, SwiftKey, or another third-party keyboard tool installed, that could be the cause of the problem. As a result, we recommend you temporarily disable or uninstall any recently installed third-party apps from your computer and see if that resolves the problem.

It is also possible that the keyboard driver on your computer is outdated, which is why you are experiencing the “emoji keyboard not working in Windows 11” issue. For that reason, you should update your keyboard driver. To do that:

          1. Visit your keyboard manufacturer’s site and download the latest version of your keyboard driver.

          2. Press Windows + S, search Device Manager in Windows Search Box, and open it.

          5. Select the Update driver and tap on Browse my computer for driver software.

          6. Now select the driver you downloaded earlier and install it.

          5. Enable Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service

The Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service may have been disabled on your computer, affecting some functions like the emoji panel. So to rule out that possibility, you should make sure the Touch keyboard and handwriting panel service is enabled:

          1. Press Windows + R to open the Run command box, type services.msc, and hit Enter.

          2. On the Windows Services window, navigate to Touch Keyboard and Handwriting Panel Service.

          6. Run chúng tôi Manually

Some users have also been able to fix this issue by running the chúng tôi manually, so we recommend you do that too.

          1. Press Windows + R to open the Run command box.

          2. Paste C:WindowsSystem32ctfmon.exe in the box and hit Enter.

Running on an old version of Windows could possibly be the cause of the issue, therefore update your Windows by following the steps below:

          1. Press Windows + I to open Settings on your computer.

          2. Select Windows Update on the left pane and tap Check for Windows Update.

If there is any update available, you should install it and check if that helps fix the issue.

Editor’s note: All instructions were generated using a Google Pixel 7 running Android 13 and an Apple iPhone 12 Mini running iOS 16.4.1. Some of the steps below might be slightly different on your end, depending on your device and software.

          Check if WhatsApp is down

          Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority

We always blame our devices when something isn’t working, but maybe the problem isn’t local. The reason for WhatsApp not working could be that the service is down.

An easy way to see if the problem is WhatsApp itself is to try using any other app or browser. If everything else is working, chances are WhatsApp’s servers are the issue. You can also use online tools like the website Down Detector. This service will let you know if there are any problems with WhatsApp itself. If WhatsApp is down, all you can do is wait until service is restored.

Close and reopen the application How to uninstall an Android app:

Tap and hold onto the WhatsApp app in your home screen or app drawer.

          Select App info.

          Check for updates

          Robert Triggs / Android Authority

Though running older apps often brings no issues, sometimes services also change things server-side, deeming some functions useless. You want to ensure you’re running the latest version of the app, so head to the Google Play Store and check for updates.

How to check for app updates on the Google Play Store:

          Open the Google Play Store.

Tap on your profile icon in the top right corner.

          Hit Manage apps & device.

          Launch the Apple App Store.

Tap on your profile icon in the top-right corner.

Scroll down a bit, and you’ll see all your available updates. Tap on Update next to WhatsApp, or select Update All to handle all app updates.

While you’re at it, you might also want to check if any updates are available to your device. Check the instructions below to learn how to update your Android device.

How to check for Android updates:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into System.

          Tap on System update.

How to check for iPhone updates:

          Launch the Settings app.

          Go into General.

          Select Software Update.

The system will automatically search for updates. Select Download and Install if there are any.

          Restart the phone

Believe it or not, a good ol’ reboot seems to fix most smartphone issues. It’s one of the first troubleshooting methods you should try. Just restart your phone and see if WhatsApp works.

How to restart an Android phone:

Press the power and volume up buttons simultaneously.

          Hit Restart.

          How to restart an iPhone:

Press and hold the power and volume up buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.

A power options screen will appear.

Use the slide to power off slider to turn the phone off.

When the phone is off, press and hold the power button to turn it back on.

How to turn on mobile data on Android:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into Network & internet.

Under SIMs, select your main SIM.

          Toggle Mobile data on.

If you’re outside your country or network coverage, also toggle Roaming on (this may incur extra charges).

How to turn on mobile data on iPhone:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into Cellular.

Make sure Cellular Data is toggled on.

If you want to enable roaming, go into your main SIM under SIMs. Then toggle on Data Roaming.

          Clear the app cache

Cache is an excellent method to keep your phone snappy, but old data can get corrupted and be the reason for WhatsApp not working. It doesn’t hurt to clear it from time to time, especially if the app isn’t working.

          Clear cache on Android:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into Apps.

Find the WhatsApp app under See all apps.

          Tap on Storage & cache.

          Hit Clear Cache.

You can also select Clear storage for a clean start.

Sadly, you can’t clear the cache on iOS apps. The only effective way to accomplish this is to delete the app and reinstall it.

          Allow all app permissions

Many issues can come from not giving WhatsApp the necessary permissions to access essential information. For example, WhatsApp may not pick up your contacts if you accidentally deny permission to your phone’s contacts. You may also have disabled background data.

How to change app permission settings:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into Apps.

Find the WhatsApp app under See all apps.

          Select Permissions.

Make sure to allow access to everything under Not allowed.

How to allow app permissions on iPhone:

          Launch the Settings app.

          Find and select WhatsApp.

Under Allow WhatsApp To Access, ensure everything is toggled on and enter all subsections to enable extra features.

          Did WhatsApp delete your account?

          Edgar Cervantes / Android Authority

Have you stopped using WhatsApp for a long time? If so, there’s a chance WhatsApp not working is simply due to your account being deleted. The service deletes accounts after 120 days of inactivity. A WhatsApp account is active as long as it has an internet connection. If this is the case, your only solution is to create a new WhatsApp account.

Make sure you have enough storage

Sometimes WhatsApp can have issues downloading content when the phone runs out of storage. The first thing to try is to clear some storage on your Android or iOS device. You can also try clearing some WhatsApp data.

How to delete WhatsApp data on Android:

          Open WhatsApp.

          Hit the three-dot menu button.

          Go into Settings.

          Select Storage and data.

          Tap on Manage storage.

Go into each conversation and delete whatever you deem unimportant.

How to delete WhatsApp data on iPhone:

          Open the WhatsApp app.

          Tap on the Settings tab.

          Go into Storage and Data.

          Hit Manage Storage.

Go into each chat and delete whatever you deem unnecessary.

Make sure background data is enabled!

If WhatsApp isn’t giving you message notifications appropriately, there is a chance you accidentally turned off background data. This can easily be fixed in the settings.

          How to enable background data:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into Apps.

Find the WhatsApp app under See all apps.

Go into Mobile data & Wi-Fi.

          Enable Background data.

You can also toggle Unrestricted data usage on. This gives the app complete data access even when in Data Saver mode.

How to turn on Background App Refresh on iPhone:

          Open the Settings app.

          Go into General.

          Tap on Background App Refresh.

Find WhatsApp and make sure it’s toggled on.

So, if you’re ready to get your Enter key back up and running, read on!

When you notice that the Enter key on your keyboard is not working, start troubleshooting by checking various parts and settings.

Here are some of the pointers you can use to tackle this problem.

The Enter key failure is an indicator that something could be wrong with your computer. The first action to take is restarting or shutting down the device.

Simply obey the below steps to restart your computer.

Select either Restart or Shut Down based on your preference.

If you choose to shut down, wait for a few seconds before switching on the computer.

Try the next method when you shut down or restart your computer and notice your Enter key is still not working.

It is tempting to begin random fixes without a clear plan. You first need to take the time to determine whether the problem is the keyboard hardware or software. If you make that your starting point, your work will be easier and less frustrating.

The easiest way to confirm if the problem is Hardware related is to try the Enter key on a different keyboard on the same computer to see if it works. And if it turns out working fine it means the other keyboard is not in good condition.

However, if after trying a different keyboard you see no changes, it means the issue is software related which we will address here.

If the Enter key gives wrong or incorrect characters when typing, that could be an element of the keyboard language or layout. Chances are high that the keyboard layout may have been altered unknowingly. You can go through the layout on your computer and adjust the settings using the following steps:

Select the Settings Icon from the list of options presented.

On the Settings Section, tap Time and Language.

Ensure the Windows Display Language is correct in English (United States).

Select the language of your keyboard.

On the screen presented, under Keyboards, ensure that the format is displayed. For example, US-QWERTY if your keyboard is in that format.

The Enter key failure may also be due to software issues. So you need to take some time to review or inspect the keyboard drivers and settings.

At times, a typical occurrence is that the driver that helps manage your keyboard may be having issues due to reasons that include:

          The installation of third-party software

Switching off your computer without using the recommended shutdown command.

You can start by updating or reinstalling the keyboard driver using these straightforward steps:

On the Search Bar next to the Windows Icon on the left-hand side of your screen, type “Device Manager.”

          Tap Uninstall Device.

          Reboot the Computer.

Windows will then automatically identify the uninstalled keyboard and will, in turn, reinstall the latest driver for that specific keyboard.

If after updating or reinstalling the keyboard driver still don’t get the Enter key working again, the next fix you should try is to install an older version of the keyboard driver.

          To do so:

Press the Windows Key and R at the same time to open the Run box.

Type “ chúng tôi ” and hit Enter.

Choose “Browse my computer for drivers.“

Select “Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer.”

Wait for the process to finish, then restart your computer and check if the issue is fixed.

Some software settings like an Enabled Sticky Keys may also lead to your Enter key not performing optimally.

So if you have the Sticky Keys enabled, all you need to do is disable it and the Enter key may start working again.

Here are a few steps you can follow to complete this task:

On the Search Bar next to the Windows Icon on the left-hand side of your screen, type “Control Panel.”

Select the Ease of Access section.

Under the Ease of Access Center, tap on “Change How Your Keyboard Works.”

Turn off Use Sticky Keys by swiping the Toggle Bar.

Filter Keys is an accessibility feature in Windows that helps people who may have difficulty holding down multiple keys at once, by making the keyboard more user-friendly.

When the Filter Keys feature is enabled, Windows will ignore brief or repeated keystrokes, and will not respond to keystrokes that are held down for too long. This feature can help prevent accidental keystrokes and make it easier for people with motor impairments or disabilities to type on a computer.

So if you are trying to use the Enter key with some other key(s) with no success, it means that having the filter keys enabled is one possible reason your Enter key may have some issues. Follow the steps below to turn off filter keys on your windows:

On the Search Bar next to the Windows Icon on the left-hand side of your screen, type “Control Panel.”

Select the Ease of Access section.

Under the Ease of Access Center, tap “Change How Your Keyboard Works.”

Turn off Use Filter Keys by swiping the Toggle Bar.

When was the last time you cleaned your keyboard? Most times, when Computers experience issues like the Enter Key not working, the first thought is that it may be a hardware problem or something complex.

But it is essential to note that simple things, such as the accumulation of dust or debris over time, can lead to the failure of some parts of a keyboard.

It is typical for dust to accumulate over time which may easily be due to some of your habits. If you often eat while using your computer, crumbs may fall and find their way into the keyboard, which may cause keyboard issues.

Too much dust or debris may hinder the proper functioning of your keys as they may get clogged over time. Here are some of the ways you can clean your keyboard:

          Using a small brush

Use a microfiber cloth to wipe the keys and remove any debris gently.

Spraying a can of compressed air in between the key spaces

Apply some rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth to remove any dried liquid or dirt stuck on or within the keys on your Computer.

It is recommendable to have a proper Computer maintenance routine to ensure your gadget is in good condition. A Computer in good condition will serve its purpose for an extended period. You can schedule the computer maintenance routine and scatter the dates throughout the year. It could be once in four or six months.

Aside from that, you can also avoid eating while using your computer to avoid the accumulation of dirt under the keys of your computer keyboard.

You can follow these steps and guidelines as you clean your Computer to avoid damaging your gadget:

Ensure you first switch off your Computer and disconnect it from any power source for your safety and that of the computer.

Flip your Computer so that the keyboard is upside down to make it easy for any debris to fall off. You can also use cleaning slime or the sticky side of the tape to eliminate any additional debris.

Use a compressed air blower to blow out any dust.

Apply some rubbing alcohol on a soft cloth and wipe through the entire keyboard. Use a reasonable amount of rubbing alcohol to avoid soaking the keyboard.

Use a dry cloth once done to give your keyboard a polished look.

Give the keyboard time to dry before using it again.

If cleaning the keyboard doesn’t solve the problem, explore the next options.

Malware and Viruses disrupt the usual functioning of your computer. Your keyboard may be affected as a result. No specific virus may be pointed out as one to cause keyboard failure since a keyboard has no ROM.

If the Enter key, or some keys or all the keys on the computer keyboard are not working, the root problem could be malware or a virus.

Scanning and eliminating malware or a virus from your Windows PC is possible. You only need to follow these steps:

On the Search Bar next to the Windows Icon on the bottom left-hand side of your screen, type Windows Security.

Select Windows Security when it appears among the options presented.

          Tap Scan.

Tap Scan Now to kickstart the process.

The scan may take a few minutes to do a thorough run, so ensure you exercise patience as you await the completion.

After the whole process is done, your Windows PC will restart. The scan will work as needed by detecting and removing any malware or virus.

Thus, if the problem of the Enter key not working was due to a virus, it should start working again.

5 Reasons Why Your Google Traffic Might Have Dropped

          1. You’ve been penalized (most obvious one considering Google’s latest aggressive punishing policy). Most often this will also trigger the following:

          you have lost all your rankings for all your keywords;

your site has been dropped out of index.

Solution: think what you have done wrong, clean up your site (and tactics) and ask for reinclusion (better: “reconsideration”). If you are sure that you are good enough for a human review, you stand a good chance to be forgiven.

          2. Your site has been hacked. Today that’s also a common scenario today. I have listed a few signs of the condition in my previous post.

          3. Google is tweaking its algorithm. That’s a highly probable situation considering last year Google “launched more than 450 new improvements, about 9 per week on the average”. Some most recent rumors include:

          Google’s “special” attitude to .info domains;

          Google deranking most directories; etc

          4. Overall (seasonal) change in searches. Yep, sometimes your traffic drop has nothing to do with either you or Google. People won’t search for snow in summer and that’s life. Sometimes that can be due to fashion trends, political and economical changes, etc. You may try to explore Google trends to find such patterns.

          5. Your competitors increased their promotional efforts. Like I said previously SEO is about constant competition. You can’t achieve the top and rest assured you are going to be there for life. You are being watched by those who want to be in your place. So do what your competitors are doing:

Remember what once brought you on top might be not enough to let you stay there.
