Although you only see one copy of your data in Dropbox at first glance, the service actually has a rolling window that you can revert to for any file. The window differs between free and paid accounts, but free users can restore any changes in the last 30 days. 

You can restore individual files and folders manually. However, if you need to set your entire Dropbox back to an earlier time (because of say a ransomware attack) you’ll need to write an email to Dropbox support.

Your files should now be back in place.

Editing a Word or other Office file from the synced folder on your computer couldn’t be easier. All you need to do is open it as usual and then save it when the edits are done. The problem comes when you need to quickly edit a file from a computer that doesn’t have a synced folder. 

Luckily Dropbox now allows you to open a file from the website directly in the app and then automatically save the edits. This saves you from manually downloading the file, editing it, uploading it and then deleting or renaming the original.

11 Tips To Get More Instagram Followers

Let’s face it. Instagram is only fun if other people are following you. However, when most of us first sign up for Instagram, hardly anyone is following us. In this article you’re going to learn some simple and ethical techniques to build a following on Instagram.

There’s a lot of demand for Instagram followers, and different scams and spammy techniques have been created as a consequence. Needless to say, these techniques don’t work (and Instagram will likely delete your account if you use them), so this article only focuses on legitimate ways to get more Instagram followers…

1. Understand why you want more Instagram followers

Before you start using the techniques described in this post, take a second to think about why you need more followers. Is it because Instagram is boring when nobody is following you? Is it because you want to get exposure and feedback for your photography? Do you want to use Instagram to promote your business?

All of the above are legitimate reasons to build an audience on Instagram, but I don’t think it’s a good idea to gain more followers to boost one’s ego or street cred. You should only keep reading if you have a good reason to build a following on Instagram.

2. Pick a focus for your Instagram profile

Your profile needs to have a clear focus if you want to be successful on Instagram. If your goal is to showcase photography, don’t post photos of food or drinking with friends (or even worse – screenshots). Your target audience only wants to see great photography!

If you use Instagram to stay in touch with friends, it’s OK to post whatever you like, but the chances are that people who don’t know you won’t be interested in following you. Why would people who don’t know you want to see what you had for lunch today?

For a business I recommend posting awesome photos that people in your industry want to see (like beautiful beaches if you’re a travel agency) while occasionally giving people a behind-the-scenes look into your company to build a more personal relationship.

3. Write a personal description 4. Make your Instagram feed awesome

Your last 30 photos should always look awesome, because when people make a decision whether to follow you, they look at your latest photos to get an idea of what they can expect from you in the future. If there are photos they don’t like, they won’t follow you.

It goes without saying that quality is more important than quantity. Delete your bad photos if you have to. Build a portfolio of at least 20 great photos if you’re just starting out. The following techniques will only work if your Instagram feed looks awesome.

5. Use hashtags to find potential followers

In order to get more followers, you have to get in front of the right people, and the easiest way to do that is through hashtags. If you’re a landscape photographer, search for other landscape photographers using hashtags such as #landscape. If you have a golf brand, look for people who play golf using hashtags such as #golf.

6. Reach out to potential followers

Liking is the by far the quickest out of the three, but it only works for users who don’t get many likes. People with many followers are used to getting likes all the time, so they no longer pay attention to them. If a photo has more than ten likes already, only the total number of likes is displayed and probably no one will notice your like.

Following someone and also liking their photos is more likely to get their attention, but you can only follow a limited number of people within an hour and in total. I would only recommend following people whose photos you actually want to see in your feed. If you just start following everyone, your Instagram feed will quickly become useless.

8. Do not post many photos at once

Once you get some new followers, it’s important that you keep them. The easiest way to lose a follower is to post many photos at once, which makes them a lot more prominent in your followers’ feeds. If they don’t like one of your photos, they probably won’t bother to unfollow you. But if you post too many photos at once, they might…

9. Don’t hashtag spam

Some people try to tag their photos with every possible hashtag – especially the popular ones – hoping to get more exposure. From my experience Instagram gives you the same amount of hashtag exposure no matter how many you include. Of course, a long list of irrelevant hashtags in the description of your photo just looks really bad, and your followers don’t want to see that. Your can use some relevant hashtags, but don’t be spammy.

10. Stay away from scams and spam

Some people go crazy about getting more Instagram followers, and different scams and spammy techniques have developed as a consequence. Forget about buying followers, begging for shoutouts, trading likes for follows, and so on. None of that works.

11. Engage with your audience

There are a few simple things you can do to keep your audience engaged. First, you should post regularly – at least a few times each week so that people don’t forget who you are. Try to add an interesting description to your photos whenever possible.

As you can see there are legitimate ways to build a following on Instagram, but they take some work and dedication. At the end of the day, people will only follow you if your feed looks great, and how many new followers you get depends on how many people check out your Instagram profile.

If you want to attract and retain top talent, you must create effective training opportunities for your employees to learn and develop their skills.

As with any business process, the type of strategies you use to train your employees affects how effective that training is. Although passing around a lengthy PDF or slideshow presentation may seem like the easiest method of training, there are several other training methods and strategies that can help employees become more educated while staying engaged and motivated throughout the process.

1. Set employee expectations.

Poor communication limits an employee’s ability to perform at full capacity. One of the best strategies for training new employees is to set employee expectations and clearly communicate them to the employee. Setting expectations means you and your employees will be on the same page. It also gives the employee a chance to ask any clarifying questions. Immediate open dialogue not only informs the employee about expectations and operating procedures, but it also sets the tone for future learning and workplace interactions.

Increasingly busy schedules and decreasing attention spans make it harder to find the time for learning and enrichment in the workplace. That’s why microlearning – short, focused and often interactive learning initiatives broken down into three- to five-minute segments – has become so popular in the modern workforce.

Matthew Brown, chief people and culture officer at talent development company Schoox, said microlearning forces companies to “deliver the most meaningful and critical content in a condensed format that is designed to be snackable and accessible in the moment of need.”

Because of the format, microlearning is often best applied to informal, simpler training needs, rather than complex skill sets.


The microlearning method is ideal for training employees in areas like time management, professional skills development and workplace HR compliance.

3. Offer e-learning opportunities.

E-learning opportunities are a great way to make learning more accessible to your employees. These allow them to learn from any location, which is especially useful if you have a remote or hybrid workforce. Flexible working has become common for many businesses, and that flexibility should extend to learning as well.

“E-learning strategies make the transfer of learning from corporate down to front-line employees significantly more efficient and impactful,” Brown told Business News Daily. “Especially in today’s fast-paced and highly distracted world, we learn in more ways than ever before. Being able to deliver the content your employees need at the moment they need it is critical to their success.”

Darren Shimkus, former president and general manager of Udemy for Business, agreed that e-learning works because it allows employees to control their experience, which means learning at their own pace, on their own time, and on the topics that are relevant to them.

“Online learning provides that flexibility and low-pressure environment that enables learners to more readily succeed,” Shimkus said. “At Udemy, we have seen that students are increasingly downloading course content … to consume on their mobile devices while on the go. Organizations can only benefit from integrating online courses to their existing learning and development programs.”

4. Allow new employees to shadow colleagues.

It’s one thing to have someone explain how to do a particular task and another to try it on your own. Demonstrating and practicing how to carry out that task on the spot can be the most effective way of learning. Melissa Cohen, vice president of communications at Unbabel and former managing partner at Metis Communications, said to incorporate hands-on shadowing into your new employee training process.

“The shadowing process allows trainees to retain information better by applying learned skills in real time and translating them to their daily tasks,” Cohen said. “It also helps new team members experiment with responsibilities in a controlled environment without risk, all while building their confidence.”

5. Hold one-on-one meetings.

Kathy Thiessen, senior vice president of operations at 101 Mobility, said that structured, biweekly meetings between an employee and their supervisor have been a very effective training method for her team.

“Our leadership team adheres to that schedule to show our trustworthiness and our investment in the team’s success,” she said. “Employees are required to bring their own agenda to kick off our coaching discussion.”

In these meetings, Thiessen said 101 Mobility employees focus on opportunities for skills development and building self-identified strengths.

“I like to close out those meetings by talking about the last 10% – the things that are difficult to discuss or topics an employee may be hesitant to discuss,” she added. “This needs to be done knowing their confidentiality will be respected.”

6. Start a mentoring program.

Employee mentorship programs can be helpful for both personal and professional development. Pair up each new employee with a mentor who can help guide them through their career. This type of program can also help new hires acclimate to your company culture. It gives employees someone to turn to if they are struggling, without fear of judgment. The mentor can help educate the employee through their tenure with your organization and guide them to the resources they need.

7. Hold lunch-and-learn sessions.

Some employees learn best in a more relaxed environment. It doesn’t even have to be a full lunch – Cohen said Metis Communications hosts optional, 45-minute Bagel or Beer ‘n’ Learns in the office and over video chat for its employees.

“In these sessions, a senior team member usually creates a casual, interactive and engaging presentation about a topic she has personal experience with, and then opens it up at the end for further discussion,” she said. “Such sessions usually lead to brainstorming among the group, as well as comfortable, open communication between team members of all experience levels.”

8. Offer video training.

Video training is increasingly popular among younger generations. The LinkedIn Learning Workplace Learning Report of 2023 found that Gen Z learners watched 50% more hours per learner of learning content in 2023 versus 2023. While live training sessions can certainly be engaging, you run the risk of the employee forgetting what they’ve learned after the session is over. Recording these presentations and offering other video training means these resources are available to your team when and where they need them. They can serve as a great refresher after the fact, or as a convenient catch-up for those who missed the meeting.

“For basic training on technology tools and other standard PR and marketing practices, we provide links to video recordings and have the team make internal presentation recordings through chúng tôi so any team member can watch them at his or her own convenience,” Cohen said.

Although the tactics above are a great starting point for creating an effective employee training program, there are a few key things to keep in mind.

“It’s important to convince employees about the effectiveness of training programs to boost their engagement,” Mouawad said. “Remember that lecture in school when you just couldn’t focus on what was being said, when your mind was in a completely different place? That’s exactly how employees feel when they are not interested in training programs.”


If you have trouble getting reluctant employees interested in utilizing your training opportunities, you may want to consider offering incentives. You can gamify training, set up competitions, and offer gift cards. You may even incentivize employees to attend training by offering paid time off.

Employee feedback

You may think you know what type of training your employees want, but the best way to find out is to ask them. Send out a survey to gather their thoughts about training initiatives and make sure you’re not wasting your time or theirs. Gathering employee feedback can also be a great way to customize your training approaches.

“Figure out what your employees actually want to learn and what kind of skills will make them more effective in their jobs,” Shimkus said. “By aligning learning and training opportunities with the preferences and desires of employees themselves, businesses will be able to keep their teams engaged and productive.”

Continued learning

Offer continued learning opportunities for all employees, and keep in mind that your strategies may need to be modified over time. Cohen suggests making training an ongoing discussion with employees to ensure it’s a useful tool for new hires and training leaders alike, and that it doesn’t become a burden.

“We’ve implemented a variety of in-depth training methods through the years, but not everyone engages in them effectively, and it would have been a disservice to keep a training approach around just because it seemed like a good idea on paper,” Cohen said.

So, log in to your Dropbox account, find the folder you want to download files from, and download a bulk of files smaller than 1GB.

While this method allows you to download files directly from the web browser, it can be time-consuming and boring work in general. Another more practical solution is to simply download the Desktop application.

3. Use the desktop client

The Unspecified files rule doesn’t affect Dropbox’s Desktop client. As soon as you have the application installed on your computer, you can move as many files and folders from it to your local storage.

How To Create A Share Folder In Dropbox

If you have not used, tried or even heard of Dropbox, probably you are still living in the stone age. Dropbox is one of the best (if not, the best) online file storage solution for all platforms, including your iPhone and Android phone. You can easily and quickly sync your desktop files to the cloud and access it from other computers. Other than file storage, Dropbox also allows you to share your files publicly (just place your files in the Public folder) or share a folder with friend(s).

Here’s how you can create a share folder and share it with your friends.

First of all, if you have not used Dropbox, download and install the desktop client, register a Dropbox account and get yourself started.

Open your file manager and navigate to the Dropbox folder. Create a new folder that you want to share (let’s call it the Share folder).

This will open your default browser and launch the Dropbox Web interface.

Once the folder is shared, Dropbox will immediately sync it to your desktop. You should now see a new icon on the share folder.

The recipient will receive an email that looks like the following:

That’s it.

What you can/cannot do with the share folder

You can’t share a folder from within your Public folder

You can’t share a folder inside another shared folder. The folder is already shared

Anyone you’ve invited to a folder can then add, delete or change files within that folder

Anyone you’ve invited to a folder can then invite others to join the folder

Only the creator of the shared folder can remove people from the folder

If two people both open and edit a file in a shared folder at the same time, Dropbox will save both of their changes, but in separate files. It does not try to automatically combine or merge changes.

In every market, current events will shift how people are searching for information and products. Tap the resources available to you in order to update your keyword lists regularly. WordTracker, KeywordDiscovery, and the tools provided by Google and Yahoo! are all great starting points.

Be sure to launch new campaigns early and often to ensure you are covering all aspects of your site. It may seem tedious to do so, but commit to building one new campaign a week (every other day, etc.). And, when you spot a campaign that isn’t performing, end it immediately.

Matt and I had a discussion about this earlier today, and it apparently led to a blog post from him. Here’s a quick point from what he had to offer:

Don’t just track the keywords that drive conversions. Track the keywords that drive Key Performance Indicators. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are behavior patterns that are common among visitors who convert, such as long visit durations, deep site penetration, or specific sets of content on the site.

Investing in your KPI’s is a surefire way to build a better online business. While your paid search marketing can be managed in a matter of minutes, the long term effects of strong efforts to focus on KPIs can last a lifetime.

While it is important to use page tagging analytical tools like Omniture or Google Analytics, you need to parse your data on your own terms as well. Use one of the free log parsing applications out there and see what is taking place on your site when a paid search visitor arrives, performs certain actions, etc. In short, understand that each analytics tool will interpret data with subtle differences. Using a few solid tools that you can trust will only provide you with more information with which to improve your paid search efforts.

We have all become complacent with paid search efforts from time to time — and it is important that you test things often. Beyond testing though, you need to be committed to measuring and improving upon what you have tested.

Work with your analytics manager to determine other ways to measure what is taking place on your site. Recently I have seen a few approaches to this process really pay off, and I’d like to share them with you here quickly.
