Evernote helps you focus on what matters most and have access to your information when you need it.
Note that it is
mostly optimized for a touch experience and has a modern UI.
If you are on the lookout for a reliable note-taking app for your Windows 10 device, then Evernote should be among the best to take into consideration.
We have given a thorough review of the Windows 10 Evernote Touch app that you can read below to get a clear idea of what this app can do for you.
The second review is here after we reviewed Wikipedia for Windows 10. Now it’s time to review the Evernote app for Windows 10, one of the best note-taking software solutions out there.
We had the pleasure of talking with Phil Libin, the CEO of Evernote. We have used Evernote on Android, iOS, and on a laptop and personal computer, and we can say that we’re very pleased with it. Now, let’s see what Evernote for Windows 10 brings to the table.
In 2023, Evernote received a new major update. The app now includes new features as:
Pulling up your notes by selecting Notebooks so you can group all of them into a single stack
The trash section now allows you to access your deleted items easier
The left sidebar can be reduced to a thin strip (in case you need some extra space)
Business and Personal sections introduced
A new search algorithm was added so you can find notes easier
So, if you need a productivity-oriented note-taking app, Evernote is the right tool.
Evernote helps you focus on what matters most and have access to your information when you need it. Input typed notes or scan handwritten notes. Add to-do’s, photos, images, web pages, or audio … and it’s all instantly searchable. Organize notes any way you want and share with anyone. And Evernote syncs across your devices so your information is always with you, everywhere you go.
Review of the Evernote appYou know who the biggest rival and opponent of Evernote is, right? Yes, Microsoft’s very own OneNote software, is part of the Microsoft Office suite.
So, can Evernote be a worthy rival to OneNote and other note-taking apps or will they have to convince us with the next version?
Users should be aware that the Evernote application for Windows 10 is mostly optimized for a touch experience, so if you still want to use your mouse and keyboard with it, maybe you should stick with the desktop version.
Evernote is deeply integrated with Modern UI (the new name for the old Metro), and it will seem very natural at use, after you get used to it.
It might take you a while to get used to it, especially if you’re new to the Windows 10 game, but you’ll find it quite light and responsive in time.
The big tiles will seem useful for some, while others would have preferred more, smaller tiles. One of the basic features is the Swipe gestures:
Semantic zoom – somehow, it’s similar to the function with the same name in Wikipedia, allowing you to tap and jump to any grouping inside the app that you want.
App bar and Navigation bar – bring down the Application and Navigation bars that allow you to create notes, sync, and navigate to other application sections.
Charm bar – allows you pull the Charm bar where you can change the settings and perform searches.
Snap view – want to minimeze Evernote or share the screen with another application? Simply swipe from the left.
Swipe on objects – allows you to select multiples notes at the same time.
Evernote for Windows PCs – a smooth note-taking applicationWe will try and confront the Evernote application with the OneNote from Microsoft in a future review, so that you could see which will better suit your needs.
One funny thing about Evernote is its age rating of 12+. In Evernote for Windows 10 everything is organized using Notebooks and Tags.
Here’s how the team at Evernote explains the Notebook and Tag view:
How to use the Evernote app on a PCWhen you open your Evernote application for Windows or RT, you will see a horizontally scrollable list. There you will find the Nav, App, and Charms bar.
Your Evernote notes can capture text, images, video, web clips, web pages, and much more. One drawback with the current version of Evernote for Windows 10 is that you can only edit plain text, meaning rich formatting isn’t yet supported.
If you’re unfamiliar with Evernote, you should know that once you create, save, or update a note, it gets synced with all your other devices where your Evernote account is installed.
If you’ll ever encounter an error, you can always ask their support or go on the Forums.
If you don’t want to learn how to use Evernote on your own, you might want to try out the official guide from the website. You will learn the following after completing the guide:
Navigate Your Account
Create & Edit a Note
Sync Your Account
Browse Notes
Organize Notes
Search Notes
Share Notes
What I didn’t like about Evernote for Windows 10 was that many times, I had the feeling that a lot of space wasn’t properly used and that there was a lot of free space that could’ve been better optimized.
Maybe this is why Evernote has only a 3 out of 5 rating.
Evernote for Windows 10 is built with the core meaning of tiles and leverages the power of Windows 10. Using Evernote, you can Auto-synchronize notes amongst your devices, use it for research (using the Wikipedia application for it, as well), and even use it as a virtual whiteboard.
We will update this review of Evernote for Windows 10 if new versions are available.

How To Download Windows Updates Manually In Windows 11/10
Most of us use Microsoft Update to keep our Windows 11/10/8/7 operating system and Microsoft software updated. But if you want to, for some, reason, download the updates manually and save it to your computer, this is how you can go about it:
How to download Windows Updates manually in Windows 11?While creating Windows 11, the developers made sure to analyze the data for which settings are used more and which are used less. No doubt Windows Updates were prioritized and a separate menu was created for the same. The procedure to download Windows updates manually in Windows 11 is as follows:
Select Settings.
In the Settings menu, check the list on the left-hand side.
Windows Update would be the last option. Select it, please.
If any Update has failed to install, you will see it mentioned.
Note down the KB number of the Windows Update.
Once you have the number, you need to manually download the KB from the Microsoft website, the procedure of which is explained below.
Download Windows Updates manually in Windows 10You can also Pause Windows Updates, change Active Hours or look at the Update History.
If any Update has failed to install, you will see it mentioned this.
Note down the KB number of the Windows Update.
Note down the KB number mentioned in the bracket.
Manually download the KB from the Microsoft websiteThis way, you will be able to install the update manually on any one or more of your computers, as long as it applies to the installed operating system or software.
Downloading, saving, and installing Windows Update manually may be done if you need to save the updates for some reason or if you find that you are unable to update your Windows using Windows Update.
Microsoft Update Catalog is a service from Microsoft that provides a listing of software updates that can be distributed over a corporate network. Using the Microsoft Update Catalog can prove to be a one-stop location for finding Microsoft software updates, drivers, and hotfixes.
WSUS Offline Update is a free tool using which, you can update Microsoft Windows or Microsoft Office easily without having an Internet connection.
Portable Update lets you update Windows 10 offline without an Internet connection.
Do we need to update Windows manually?Ideally, Windows updates are performed by the system automatically. We don’t really need to hit the “Check for updates” button manually. But, if a third-party software stops the process, it needs to be restarted manually.
Furthermore, if you believe Windows hasn’t been updated for quite a while, performing a manual update could be very helpful. Personally, I check for a manual update occassionally just in case anything has been missed.
Why are Windows Updates so important? One might argue that Windows Updates simply modify the features of the operating system or push fixes to existing problems, which many users might not require. So, why is it still important to make sure your system is up to date?
The reason is simple – security updates. Cybercriminals keep getting smarter and find ways to hack into the current system. To counter the same, Microsoft keeps launching security updates. These security updates are obviously important, else your system would be at risk.

How To Download An Ftp File Using Cmd In Windows 11/10
In this article, we will discuss how to download a file from an FTP server using Command Prompt (CMD) on Windows 11 or 10. File Transfer Protocol (FTP) is a standard network protocol used to transfer files from one host to another over the internet. CMD, a command-line interpreter application in Windows, allows users to perform various tasks, including file transfers, without relying on third-party software.

Username and password for the FTP server (if required)
The exact path to the file you want to download (e.g., /folder/subfolder/filename.extension)
Expert guide: How to download all files from a website directory using Wget
Follow these steps to download an FTP file using CMD in Windows 11 or 10:
Open CMD: Press Win + X on your keyboard, and then select Windows Terminal (Windows 11) or Command Prompt (Windows 10) from the context menu.
Access the FTP server: Enter the following command in CMD, replacing chúng tôi with the actual FTP server address:
After successfully connecting to the server, you will see the FTP server’s welcome message.
For some cases, you may need to manually authenticate by entering the username and password using the following commands:
user your_username your_passwordReplace your_username and your_password with the appropriate credentials. After successful authentication, you should see a confirmation message.
List the directory content: To view the content of the current directory on the FTP server, enter the following command: ls
This command will display the list of files and directories in the current directory, helping you identify the exact path to the file you want to download.
Switch to binary mode: To ensure that the file is transferred correctly, switch to binary mode by entering the following command: binary
Navigate to the local directory: Choose the local directory where you want to save the downloaded file. Use the following command, replacing C:destination_folder with the desired local path: lcd C:destination_folder
Download the file: Use the get command to download the file from the FTP server. Replace /folder/subfolder/filename.extension with the actual file path on the server: get /folder/subfolder/filename.extension
Once the file transfer is complete, you will see a confirmation message.
Close the FTP connection: To close the FTP connection, enter the following commands: bye exit
Congratulations! You have successfully downloaded an FTP file using Command Prompt in Windows 11 or 10. With this method, you can download files without the need for third-party FTP clients, making the process more efficient and secure.
Useful tip: How to Run Batch File Without the CMD Window
In addition to the step-by-step guide, you can also download an FTP file using only a single line of command in CMD. This method is more concise and straightforward, making it particularly useful for users who prefer a quick approach.
Here is the one-liner command to download an FTP file:
Replace the following placeholders with the appropriate information:
USERNAME: Your FTP server username
PASSWORD: Your FTP server password
PATHTOFILE: The exact path to the file on the server (e.g., /folder/subfolder/filename.extension)
This single command line performs the following actions:
Connects to the FTP server
Authenticates the user with the provided username and password
Switches to binary mode for accurate file transfer
Closes the FTP connection
Deletes the temporary ftp file created during the process
By using this one-liner command, you can accomplish the same task as the step-by-step guide but in a more efficient manner. However, it is essential to remember that this method provides less visibility into the process, making it more suitable for experienced users or those who prefer a quicker approach.
Before using this command, ensure that you are in the directory where you want to download the file. If you need to change the directory in the CMD session, use the following command:
cd C:destination_folderReplace C:destination_folder with the desired local path. Once you are in the correct directory, enter the one-liner command mentioned above to download the FTP file.

Best Android Emulators For Windows 11/10 Pc
In this post, we list some of the best Android emulators for Windows PC that let you run Android apps on your PC.
Android is the leader when it comes to mobile operating systems. One in 3 smartphones runs Android – different versions. Naturally, most of programmers and developers tend to create apps – messaging, communications, office automation, and games, etc. – for Android phones.
Before releasing an app, it has to be tested properly. For users, phones may become slow and destroy their app experience. In such cases, both developers and users can use the Android emulators. While developers can test their apps on a bigger screen, regular end users can enjoy Android apps on computers that have a high-end configuration.
Android Emulators for Windows 11/10This post lists three of the best Android emulators for Windows 11/10/8/7 PC that both developers and regular users of the Android operating system can use.
1] Bluestacks EmulatorWe had covered Bluestacks Android Emulator earlier when it was just a concept. Four years later, it is the most preferred Android emulator for Windows computers. It takes a while to install, so you have to be patient. It installs a special service that you can see in Windows Services and the Task Manager. That is to say that once installed; it will be running continuously in the background. But I did not notice any slowdown in speed for my other (Windows-based) applications like Word etc.
The only drawback is that it is a bit slow to start. It took almost 10 minutes for the first run. But once started, the games go smoothly. There are other problems such as promotions of Android apps and push notifications from the makers of this emulator. Also, it won’t show you all features of an Android phone as other emulators do – such as settings, etc. It just serves as an Android app launcher.
TIP: MEmu is a fast and feature-rich Android emulator for Windows
2] LDPlayer EmulatorLDPlayer is one of the best Android emulators you can have on PC. The emulator works on Intel, or AMD powered computers, offers game optimization, supports keyboard and mouse, and more. All this makes the emulator stand out and turn your PC into an Android gaming system.
LDPlayer comes in two flavors, one which supports Android 7.1, and the second supports Android 5.1. So, if you have old games that the latest version of Android is not supporting, LDPlayer has got you covered.
3] Andy Android EmulatorThere is good competition between Andy and Bluestacks. The features of the Android phone are absent in the latter due to which, some people prefer Andy as it gives you a complete look of the Android phone. Read our review of Andy Emulator on The Windows Club. This serves a better purpose for developers who wish to test their applications on a wider screen. And it also makes it fun for the regular Android apps users by making their apps run faster and smoother.
Read: Best Sega Dreamcast Emulators for Windows PC.
4] Genymotion Android EmulatorThis seems as if built upon the faults of Bluestacks – to eliminate them. Though there is a regular Android SDK that most developers use, I won’t mention it here as it requires much technical knowledge to configure and use it. Coming to Genymotion, it is focused on the developers but is much easier to use compared to standard Android SDK. It is faster compared to Bluestacks and does not have the problem of installing random applications.
Genymotion also provides you all the features of an Android phone and hence may be preferred to regular Android SDK for Windows. Genymotion also keeps on running in the background but is not heavy on resources. While most features are present in the paid versions, the free download still allows you to test Android apps and use them on Windows PC. It is, however, not free.
5] Nox PlayerNox Player is another awesome free Android Emulator for Windows PC to play games like Clash of Clans, PUBG Mobile or Ragnarok M Eternal Love by having a bigger screen and full support over your keyboard or controller. If you have a decent PC rig, you will be able to tweak CPU, RAM, switch between DirectX and Open GL graphics. All this delivers an experience as if the Android was built for Windows.
AMIDuOS, Droid4x, Windroy and Xamarin Android Player are some of the other Android Emulators for Windows 11/10 that are available.
Go here if you are looking for iOS Simulators & Emulators for Windows PC.
