Creating backups frequently is one of the best ways to keep your important files, and many users don’t like using cables for this purpose.

It’s possible to back up your iOS device wirelessly, and in today’s guide, we’re going to show you the best ways to do that on your PC.

Is it possible to transfer photos from iPhone to Windows 10 wirelessly?

Wireless transfer is the simplest way of transferring files from your iOS device to the computer, and this feature is fully supported on Windows 10.

There are multiple methods that you can use to transfer your photos, so be sure to keep on reading to find out how to do that.

How can I backup iPhone photos to PC over Wi-Fi? 1. Use cloud storage

You can use any other cloud storage service, but we recommend iCloud since it’s already available on all iOS devices.

2. Use third-party software

Many apps can help you back up your files, and one of them is iCareFone. The software allows you to backup your data from iOS to PC with ease.

It can transfer all types of media files, and it can even convert HEIC to JPG photos. File managing is also simple since the application will create a virtual USB drive on your computer.

⇒ Get iCareFone

3. Use iTunes 4. Send images via email

On your phone, open the email client.

Now compose a new email and set your email address as the recipient.

Add the desired photos and tap on Send.

Once the photos are sent, open your email on PC and download the photos.

This isn’t the most effective solution, and it can take you a lot of time, so use it only if you need to back up a small batch of photos.

What’s the best way to transfer photos from iPhone to PC?

There are two methods that you can use, wireless or wired, and the wired method is usually faster, but it requires you to connect your phone to the PC and set everything up.

On the other hand, the wireless method is simpler since it doesn’t involve any cables, but it can be slow depending on the speed of your network connection.

If you need to transfer a large number of files, then the wired method is a faster and better choice. On the other hand, if you just need to transfer a few files, then the wireless option could be a better choice.

How to Change Google Maps Voice on Apple iPhones

Google Maps in Android phones have a separate assistant and its voice settings. Since Android devices are run on Google’s Android OS, they have a separate assistant for voice commands and text-to-speech settings. But that’s not the case for iPhones. Apple devices run on iOS and the Google Maps voice on iPhones is the same as the default text-to-speech settings built into the iOS program. Hence, in order to change the Google Maps voice on your iPhone, you must change the voice language from default iOS language, thus altering the device’s text-to-speech settings. Here’s how you can do that:

Step 1: Head to Settings.

Step 2: Proceed to General Settings.

Step 3: Tap on Language & Region.

Step 4: Tap on iPhone Language.

Step 5: Select a new version for English language or change the language to change the Google Maps voice.

This process on iPhone or in any iOS/iPad OS device will change the language and voice style for all the apps on the device. If you don’t want that, you can always prefer to use the Apple Maps app against Google Maps, which is exclusive on Apple devices. It runs on Siri and Siri allows changing voice styles along with assistant’s voice gender via making changes in Siri Voice Settings.

Changing Google Maps voice is something of a personal preference. While Android devices have a simple way of doing that, given they are Google-compatible, Apple devices need a major settings change to alter Google Maps voice style. It is preferable to go through this process only in Android devices, unless you don’t mind changing text-to-speech settings for all the other apps on an iPhone.

How To Delete Duplicate Photos On Iphone In Ios 16

The software update was revealed to cheers at Apple’s reveal at WWDC 2023 in June, with big changes including a hugely customisable lock screen, the ability to edit and unsend text messages and a new on-device dictation system, but there are plenty of smaller features and tweaks that Apple didn’t mention on the day.

It concerns the Photos app, and more specifically, duplicate photos and videos. Whether we’ve saved an image on WhatsApp not realising it has already been added to the Photos app or double-screenshotted a particularly juicy conversation, we’ve all got duplicates in our photo library and they take up valuable space, both on-device and in iCloud.

The best way to deal with duplicates is to find and delete them – and there are plenty of apps on the App Store and Mac that’ll help in this regard. However, with iOS 16, you don’t need any additional app or tech – just head to the Photos app.

If you’re running the iOS 16 beta ahead of launch and want to keep your photo library in check, here’s how to find and merge duplicate videos on iPhone in iOS 16.

How to find duplicate photos and videos in iOS 16

At a glance

Time to complete:

2 minutes

Tools required: An iPhone running iOS 16

Make sure you’re running the iOS 16 beta

Dominik Tomaszewski / Foundry

The first step, if we’ve not made it obvious until this point, is to make sure you’re running the iOS 16 beta.

You can sign up via the Apple public beta website, and we’ve got a step-by-step guide on how to install the iOS 16 beta if you’re unsure.

Open the Photos app

Lewis Painter / Foundry

Once you’re running the latest iOS 16 beta, open the Photos app on your iPhone and head to the Album tab.

Find the new Duplicates utility

Lewis Painter / Foundry

Scroll past your albums, photos and people and media types until you get to the Utilities menu at the bottom of the list.

Within the list of imported, hidden and recently deleted media (the latter of which are now Face ID-protected), you’ll find a new option – Duplicates.

Simply tap the Duplicates icon to access the new duplicates utility.

Select the duplicate photos you’d like to delete/merge

Lewis Painter / Foundry

You’ll now see a list of all the duplicate photos and videos stored on your iPhone and in iCloud.

Rather than simply deleting one and keeping the other, Apple has opted to merge the two, combining the metadata from both so nothing is lost.

This means you’ll keep necessary metadata like the date taken, location, the phone used and more – a feature not offered by most third-party alternatives.

You can merge duplicates one-by-one by tapping the Merge button, but we’d recommend batch merging. You can do this by tapping the Select icon in the top-right and tapping Select All.

Merge your duplicates

Lewis Painter / Foundry

Once you’ve selected the photos and videos you’d like to merge, tap the Merge button at the bottom of the screen and tap Merge on the pop-up to confirm.

That’s it! Your iPhone will then merge all your duplicate photos and videos, freeing up some much-needed space on your iPhone and iCloud.

5 Apps To Automatically Back Up Your Photos In Android

With improved technology and better Android smartphones, there is a lot more space that you can use to store your photos and videos. Unfortunately, you cannot rely only on your Android phone to do the safekeeping. First of all, space is limited on your device. It will start to lag behind or even start losing some of your data as time goes on. Also, someone could steal your Android phone, and your photos and videos would be lost with the device. At this point, backing up comes in.

If you have a solid Internet connection and don’t mind trusting your photos to the r Web, these five Android apps can automatically back up your photos and videos and will do their part to make sure your memories are safe and sound.

1. Google Photos

Google Photos houses all photos and videos on an Android phone. You can search the photos by places, things, and people who appear in that photo.

You can set up an auto backup that applies to every photo or video that your device receives. When backed up, you can also access all your photos and videos from another device.

When you choose to back up on Google Photos, you can store up to 15 GB of data on a single account. When you opt for the Storage Saver option, the original size is maintained. However, if the photo is above 16MP, it is resized. This applies for videos above 1080p resolution, too.

With Express quality, the photos are stored at a lower quality. It saves more storage space than the Storage Saver Option. All photos are resized down to 3MP if needed, while videos are resized to 480p.

The Google Photos application backs up almost all image formats, such as PNG, GIF, JPG, and even RAW. For videos, the app supports both the standard and uncommon formats such as AVI, MOV, M4V, MPG, and MP4, among others.

2. Dropbox

Dropbox offers free storage of data up to 2 GB of space.

3. OneDrive

You’ve picked up on the trend by now for sure. All of the most popular cloud storage providers are willing to store your photos automatically. If OneDrive is your backup solution of choice in Windows, you can try out its Android app too. OneDrive gives you 5 GB of storage for free. Users can upgrade to a different home or business plans to add more storage capacity.

You will find the same option to instantly back up your photos and videos that the competition has. You can then browse through them within the app via a traditional grid view.

5. Mega

If you have too many photos and videos saved on your device than any of these services are can handle for free, check out Mega. This storage solution provides 20 GB of free space to its users. That’s enough space for many folks to get by on without having to jump up to a larger plan.

Your Memories Safely in the Cloud

These are, however, not the only applications to back up your photos in Android. There are many more cloud storage services with an auto uploading feature, like pCloud. Share with us which one is your favorite.
