Suggested January 2024 Ios 15.1 Is Now Available, Here’s Why You Should Update

Apple has officially released iOS 15.1 to the general public. This update comes a month after Apple introduced iOS 15 and delayed some important features that were expected to launch with it. Here’s everything new with iOS 15.1 that should make you update your iPhone now.

COVID-19 vaccination card in the Wallet app

Remember when Apple introduced that API with Google to track people infected with COVID-19? With the pandemic slowly going away, people can start to proudly show their vaccination cards within the Apple Wallet app with iOS 15.1.

The company is using the SMART Health Cards specification to power this feature, which means that if your healthcare provider or state is using the SMART Health Cards platform, you can share verifiable health records stored in the Health app with approved third-party apps requesting this information, including airlines, event venues, and other businesses. Learn more about it here.

SharePlay is finally here with iOS 15.1

One of the most anticipated features of iOS 15 is SharePlay. Unfortunately, in the middle of beta testing the software, Apple removed this function and only started testing it again with iOS 15.1 beta 1. Luckily, this function is finally available to all users with this week’s release of iOS 15.1.

With SharePlay, you can connect with a dozen friends or family members and make watch parties, listen to songs, or exercise together using FaceTime. There are a handful of apps already supporting this feature, and you can learn more about it here.

ProRes for the iPhone 13 Pro professional users

When Apple introduced the iPhone 13 last month, it announced that later this year ProRes support would be coming to the iPhone 13 Pro models, a more pure way to capture and edit videos that very popular with filmmakers, YouTubers, etc.

With iOS 15.1, ProRes capture is supported at up to 30fps at 4K and up to 60fps at 1080p for devices with 256GB of storage and higher. If you have an iPhone 13 Pro with 128GB of storage, you’ll be limited to 1080p capture at 30fps. You can learn more about it here.

Macro Photography now tweaked with iOS 15.1

Another improvement for iPhone 13 Pro users is the ability to turn off macro photography. This feature is exclusive to the latest Pro iPhones and allows users to take a photo or record a video up to 2 cm close to the subject.

Unfortunately, sometimes you don’t want to turn on Macro photography, and it would turn on automatically. Now, it’s possible to disable it through the camera’s settings. Although there isn’t a toggle on the main camera app, like Night mode, it’s still better than nothing. Learn more about it here.

If you enjoy using Shortcuts, there are great improvements to the app. With iOS 15.1, new pre-built actions let you overlay text on images or gifs, plus a new collection of games lets you pass the time with Siri.

For example, you can try “Music Quiz,” a game for you to guess five of your songs. You can later share with friends or ask them to play with you.

Ag Ai? What Is It And Why You Should Care

AG AI stands for Artificial Intelligence for Agriculture, and that’s what we’re doing. Farming and bringing crops to market is a difficult business, which involves, among other things, managing complex biological systems and understanding how they respond to their environment. One project we’re currently working on at Pavo helps farmers develop a better understanding of what drives crop yield for hazelnut orchards. We’re using big data and machine learning techniques to expand the possibilities in prediction and proactive crop management.

Biological Complexity Captured

Trees are complex and each is a unique biological organism – no two are the same. The way a tree responds to its environmental variables and their individual impact on its yield is convoluted and intertwined; our models must reflect this hidden complexity. Capturing this diversity is an important part in understanding yield and an orchard’s response to its environment. We’re gathering information and, through the power of big data, developing models at an individual tree level using decades of historical information. A tree’s response to its local conditions is modeled, leveraging a combination of methods like neural nets (a.k.a. deep learning) and classical time series methods. We then scale these tree-level models to understand and predict the behavior of an entire orchard with all its biological diversity of possible outcomes. After our models are built, all that is required for a prediction of yield is a reasonable estimate of the expected future conditions.

Hyper-local Information

Using Pavo’s network of sensors we’re able to measure the environmental conditions affecting crops closer to their point of impact – as localized as at an individual tree. This precision helps us reduce uncertainty in our yield predictions due to errors in the model inputs. Combining automated sensor data with decades of historical information on nut yields, collected with the same degree of precision, has created an extremely powerful dataset from which to construct models. We’re able to more accurately predict and understand the impact of varying environmental conditions and weather scenarios on orchards through highly localized and precise measurements of both the input conditions and output nut yield. We’re leveraging a combination of methods like neural nets (a.k.a. deep learning) and classical time series analysis to capture a tree’s response to its local conditions. We then scale these tree-level models to understand and predict the behavior of an entire orchard with all its biological diversity of possibilities and outcomes.

Making Use of Community Feedback

In addition to the power of data harvested from our network of sensors, we’re collecting feedback and information from our community of experts and local farmers. This information is used to refine our understanding of not only what affects an orchard but to what degree it will impact a particular crop. It’s good to know when frost will occur, but even better if you can tell when it will have a minor or severe impact on your yield. We use the expertise and feedback from our community of users to continually evolve and enhance the power of our predictions. We’re combining state-of-the-art data science techniques with our ability to collect precision data, and developing models that allow farmers to prepare for whatever Mother Nature may bring. And we’re taking these models even further, applying and adapting them to indoor agriculture for produce crops, like spinach, lettuce and strawberries, to ensure that the world’s farmers can continue to feed a growing global population. We believe that technology has an increasingly important role to play in meeting the rapidly increasing caloric demand, and our IoT blockchain solution is up to the task.

The Future – Bringing it Indoors

Garmin Body Battery: What Is It And Why Should You Care?

Ryan Haines / Android Authority

Garmin Body Battery is a feature on Garmin devices that aims to offer insight into your energy and readiness for training. The feature is available on a number of watches from the company. But is it really a useful feature? How does it work? Allow us to explain.

How Garmin Body Battery works

According to Garmin’s website, Body Battery combines heart rate variability (HRV), stress, and activity data to calculate the user’s likely energy reserves. It uses this information to generate a number between 1-100.

Garmin Body Battery levels:

0-25: Low reserve energy

26-50: Medium reserve energy

51-75: High reserve energy

76-100: Very high reserve energy

HRV is a useful measurement of sympathetic nervous system dominance. The sympathetic nervous system is responsible for the “fight or flight” response and is associated with increased heart rate, suppressed immunity, digestion, and anxiety, among other things. Normally, when we exhale, we become slightly more parasympathetic, meaning our body slightly relaxes. This is indicated by a slight decrease in heart rate, providing us with “variability.”

If the heart rate does not change as much during exhalation — if variability is low — it suggests the body is too stressed to calm itself down. This tends to correlate with physiological arousal, illness, toxicity, psychological stress, hunger, or incomplete recovery.

Activity and stress

Garmin says HRV data is then combined with stress. This is derived from the HRV data, but it’s possible to see how the two metrics interact in the screenshots (above). Broadly, more stress = a rapidly draining battery, as you would expect.

Additionally, activity levels can help to contextualize this data. If you have been training intensively for five days in a row, there is a higher likelihood that you should be tired.

Above all else, listen to what your body is telling you about your recovery.

Moreover, Body Battery is primarily a reflection of HRV. While the score might also take other factors into account, such as activity and sleep, these should already be reflected in your HRV.

Nor is this feature entirely unique. Other devices, such as the Oura Ring 3 or WHOOP Strap, have a similar ability to measure HRV and output a “readiness” score. Fitbit also debuted a similar feature called Daily Readiness Score on the Fitbit Charge 5, which has since landed on its premium smartwatches and the Google Pixel Watch.

Body Battery also requires the user to wear the device consistently, including at night, with only short breaks to charge. When you stop using the tool, you will see dotted lines appear on the graph. This indicates estimated values generated by combining population data and individual trends. If you stop wearing the watch for several hours, however, it will reset the score. In other words? Body Battery is a commitment if you want to see the most accurate information. This will be off-putting to some users, especially those that own the bulkier Garmin products or dedicated running watches.

If you want to give Garmin Body Battery a try, you can find it on any of the following compatible devices:

Once you begin wearing the device, it can take 5-7 days for it to learn your habits and adapt accordingly.

Top Garmin Body Battery questions and answers

Garmin’s Body Battery is a feature that calculates your body’s energy reserves throughout the day based on several factors. It uses heart rate variability, stress, and activity to calculate a score between 1 and 100. The higher the number, the more energy you have.

Based on our experience, Garmin’s Body Battery is a remarkably accurate and easily digestible representation of energy levels.

Low Body Battery scores may be down to lifestyle factors, including poor sleep, alcohol consumption, or incessant stress. Current factors, like illness, can also affect the score.

The Body Battery only charges when you’re completely at rest. This means it’s less likely to recharge during the day unless you take a nap or are completely at ease.

According to Garmin, getting a good night’s sleep is integral to a high Body Battery score the following day. You should also eat healthily, get enough exercise, and avoid stressors.

8 Healthy Reasons You Should Have Sex Right Now!

If there’s one thing that many of us can agree is a great way to spice up our lives, it’s having sex! Not only does it feel good and pleasure both parties involved, but it also has some incredible health benefits. From strengthening your immune system to protecting against heart disease, the list of reasons why you should have sex right now just keeps getting longer. In this blog post, we’ll look at eight healthy reasons why hopping in the sack is something you should consider doing tonight!

Eight Surprising Benefits of Having Sex 1. Stress Relief

When it comes to reducing stress, sex can be an effective tool. The release of endorphins, our brain’s natural feel-good neurotransmitters, immediately follows orgasm, helping to reduce stress levels and boosting a person’s overall well-being. Additionally, oxytocin, a hormone that is also released during sex, helps reduce the symptoms of anxiety by promoting relaxation and trust. Because it is important to calm both the mind and body during times of high stress, the dual effect of endorphins and oxytocin works in harmony to provide a healthy outlet for relieving stress levels.

2. Improved Cardiovascular Health

Participating in regular sexual activities can offer a range of surprising health benefits, particularly when it comes to supporting a healthy heart. Sexual activity increases blood flow, delivering vital nutrients and hormones to heart muscles. This improved circulation help strengthens the heart and can reduce the risk of heart disease and other cardiovascular issues. In addition, engaging in regular sexual activities can help reduce stress hormone levels, helping to lower blood pressure and further reducing the risks of developing a serious heart condition. So while we don’t commonly associate bedroom habits with our hearts, it’s important to recognize that engaging in safe and regular sexual activities can play an important role in maintaining good overall health and well-being.

3. Improved Sleep

Sex offers many physical and emotional health benefits, including improved sleep. This can be attributed to the release of endorphins and oxytocin during sexual activity. Endorphins are hormones that act as the body’s natural painkillers, creating a sense of euphoria and relaxation, helping ease the body and mind into more restful sleep patterns. Oxytocin, commonly known as the love hormone, is released during sex and helps to create a bond between partners. It works in the brain to reduce stress levels and increase overall feelings of contentment, which can significantly improve the quality of an individual’s shuteye. In summary, having sex supports a better night’s sleep due to the positive psychological impacts associated with neurochemicals, endorphins and oxytocin.

4. Boosted Immunity

Sex isn’t just a source of physical pleasure but also an important component of overall health and wellness. Recent scientific studies have found that regular sexual activity can boost the immune system by causing an increase in the production of antibodies and white blood cells. These essential elements play an important role in keeping the body healthy, reducing the chance of illness and protecting against disease-causing toxins. In addition to these physical benefits, sex can also reduce stress levels and improve mood, helping maintain a strong immune system. Therefore, having a healthy sex life is good for enjoying your life and has positive consequences for long-term immunity and well-being.

5. Increased Intimacy and Connection with the Partner

A growing body of research suggests that regular sexual activity can improve personal and couple relationship satisfaction. Intimacy through sexual contact enhances emotional bonds by releasing hormones like dopamine and oxytocin, which aid in bonding between two people. This, combined with the physical pleasure from sex, releases tension and stress, which can often contribute to strain within relationships. Additionally, feeling desired and appreciated, connecting deeper in an intimate sense, communicating needs and desires, and taking note of physical cues are all essential elements when building strong emotional bonds. Furthermore, it has been found that couples who express their love through more frequent physical connections experience greater levels of overall relationship satisfaction.

6. Improved Self-Esteem and Body Image

Sexual activity, when entered willingly and with consent, can be a powerful way to promote positive feelings of both self-worth and body image. Particularly in instances of consensual physical intimacy between two parties, physical pleasure and intimacy feed into a sense of being appreciated, respected and loved by another person – none of which are factors that should be undermined or neglected when it comes to creating healthy images of ourselves. Moreover, when engaging in activities like foreplay or other sexual acts that require confidence, such as engaging in conversation beforehand, the positive feedback associated with these experiences can have far-reaching effects on our views of ourselves. Socially embedded ideals surrounding beauty or sexual value might still be present while engaging in such activities, but there are great benefits from learning how to navigate these feelings and instead focus on the nourishing emotions generated from a consensual sexual encounter.

7. Increased Sexual Function and Pleasure

Regular sexual activity is an important factor in maintaining strong sexual functioning and increasing pleasure. Enduring physical intimacy with a partner produces a range of hormones, including oxytocin and endorphins, which stimulate feelings of love and pleasure, making for a fulfilling sexual experience. Regular intimate activity can also improve circulation within the body, allowing for better blood flow to the genitals and heightened arousal. Additionally, it helps strengthen pelvic muscles to permit stronger contractions during orgasm as well as increase libido. With regular sexual activity, not only are you able to achieve greater pleasure from physical contact, but you also make sex more enjoyable overall by keeping the body active and fit.

8. Natural Pain Reliever

Although it might seem counterintuitive, research has indicated that sex can be a powerful and effective way to relieve pain. In some cases, the act of intercourse and orgasm can result in a dramatic decrease in pain that is both immediate and lasting. It does this through the release of endorphins, which are neurotransmitters associated with pleasure, happiness and pain relief. Endorphin levels increase during sexual activity, resulting in large amounts being released into the bloodstream when orgasm occurs, leading to feelings of elation as well as significantly reduced pain levels. So if you’re suffering from mild aches or a moderate amount of discomfort – why not try something enjoyable and beneficial?

Conclusion

So there you have it: some great reasons why sex is good for your mind and body. Of course, ultimately, whether or not to have sex and how often to have it is a personal decision. But if you’re curious about trying to improve your health in 2023, making regular sexual activity a priority would be your ideal bet.

Why You Should Wait For The Iphone 5

I was wrong about the iPhone 4s. I said it would be great. I predicted it would be the best phone ever built. The truth, it turns out, is that the iPhone 4s kind of sucks.

There. I said it.

And I might be wrong again with the headline for this column. I don’t have much faith in Apple to get it right for the upcoming iPhone 5, either. The iPhone 4s has shaken my confidence in Apple’s legendary ability to bang out hit after hit.

My confident, bullish prediction about the iPhone 4s was based on Apple consistently improving on each new iPhone upgrade, and on the company’s stellar achievement in getting the iPad so right the first time, and so super-right the second time.

The iPhone 4s is the first stumble by Apple since the company launched the original iPhone in chúng tôi me, there’s only one reason to buy and own an iPhone 4s: Siri.

Apple’s Siri voice-based virtual assistant technology is flawed, but well worth it. More on that below. First, let me tell you why the iPhone 4s isn’t the phone Apple said it would be at their October 4 launch.

The iPhone 4s should be a better phone than the iPhone 4. Looking at the specs, and the list of new features and capabilities, it should be everything the iPhone is, plus better, faster and easier to use.

Some aspects of the iPhone are better. Siri is very useful. Some of the accessibility features are fantastic, even for people without disabilities.

Beyond that, the phone is harder and more annoying to use than the iPhone 4 was. Here’s why.

I haven’t run objective tests, but I do have some “anecdata” for you: It feels like it has half the battery life of the previous phone. Personally, I can’t get through an entire day without charging it.

Again, this is unscientific, but the battery problems appear to be caused primarily by iOS 5. The reason I say this is that my wife installed the upgrade on her iPhone 4, and that phone also took a huge hit in battery life.

Other reasons are likely to be that Siri is always loaded and ready and battery consuming when you use it. Find My Friends, which is Apple’s Latitude-like family-and-friend stalker application, is constantly hitting the network.

These are all nice features. But being able to turn the phone on is also a feature, one that becomes unavailable when the battery dies. The battery life creates problems for iPhone 4s users.

The camera was supposed to be great, the best camera in any cell phone. Sometimes it is. But usually, it’s not.

That last bit, the “reduced motion blur” is flat-out wrong. Apple claims that because they say the camera has image stabilization. But this feature is undetectable in real life.

If you’re outside on a sunny day, or are taking pictures of subjects that aren’t moving, the iPhone 4s takes really great pictures. But reduce the light even slightly, and with your subject in any kind of motion, and your pictures will be so blurry you’ll simply delete them.

Most of the pictures I take with this phone are unusable because of motion blur. I can’t detect any image stabilization in videos, either.

I took better pictures, on average, with the camera in the iPhone 4.

The yellow is turned way up. As a result, the screen is unappealing to look at. Blues look greenish. The overall appearance of the screen is somewhat nauseating to look at.

Some say the problem affects mostly black phones, and not white ones.

When I put my old iPhone 4 next to a new black 4s as well as a white one, it was clear that the white 4s was a little too yellow, and the black 4s was way too yellow. It was also clear that the iPhone 4 screen has much better color than the new phones.

You expect improvements with new phones, not regression. But that’s what you get with the iPhone 4s — especially the black one — a reduction in screen quality.

Personally, I intend to exchange my black iPhone 4s for a white one.

5 Reasons Why You Should Buy A Mechanical Keyboard

There you are, sitting on your office chair. Feeling comfortable and good about yourself. Let me tell you something. You are lost. You are a nobody. Why? Because you don’t have a mechanical keyboard in your life! Like some evangelical preacher, I have an idea I need to sell you. That is the glory of the mechanical keyboard. If you accept the mechanical keyboard into your life, you could be experiencing increased comfort, improved productivity, and glory! It will change the way you type forever! Don’t just ask me, there are plenty of fanatics that have forever converted from using cheap, rubber-dome keyboards to high-quality mechanicals. I have made a short list of five reasons why you should switch to a mechanical keyboard. I have faith that you will see the light.

The second reason why you need to switch to a mechanical keyboard is ergonomics. Mechanical keyboards generally have higher quality keycaps which are rounded to let your fingers rest on them more comfortably. Traditional laptop keys, with the exception of Lenovo’s, are flat. Flat keys are good for space-saving designs but you not only lose precision, but also comfort. I find flat keys uncomfortable to type on for long periods because I have to hit them “head on” in order not to make an error. Also, it is very easy to hit these keycaps on the corners which will cause your fingers to slip and mis-type. If you hit the corner of a keycap on a mechanical keyboard, you still have a good chance of registering the input. The longer “throw” of mechanical keyboards are also more comfortable for long typing sessions compared to the short engagement point of chicklet-style keyboards. For a long time, I thought the main attribute of an ergonomic keyboard is shape. After using the Microsoft Natural Ergonomic keyboard for 2-3 years and using my Leopold Tenkeyless for about 5 months, I realize that it’s not about the shape. The main reason mechanical keyboards are better is the key switches.

The third benefit is reduced strain. I realize this is closely related to comfort but I felt that this deserved its own section simply because of RSI(Repetitive Strain Injury). We use our computers for hours and some of us do not take RSI seriously. I take good care of my hands. And so should you. For most people, their hands are their livelihood. Hand health is very important if you are a musician, laborer, or athlete. One thing I’ve notice after spending a few months with my mechanical keyboard compared to keyboards of my past is finger pain. I use to get finger pain after prolonged typing on the rubber dome keys. They were all I knew so I didn’t question. It wasn’t until I was in the market for a better keyboard where I found out about mechanical key switches. Subsequently, it wasn’t until I was typing on them for hours until I realized my finger pain was mainly caused by the cheap rubber-dome keyboards. If you are on the computer for hours, or if your profession involves extensive amounts of typing, consider investing on a mechanical keyboard for this very reason. These key switches will reduce finger strain. Your hands will thank you.

The fourth benefit of using a mechanical keyboard is improved speed. A more precise, comfortable keyboard means improved typing speed. I was never a speed typist. Barely being able to type 25 WPM, after a few months of serious training, I can now type 60-70 WPM. Your mileage may vary but you will improve your speed. If not in burst typing, definitely in endurance typing. That’s typing long essays or reports. Wiki has the average typing speed rated at 33 WPM. If you are over this, you are doing very well.

The last and most important reason why you need a mechanical keyboard? They’re fun! That may sound silly to say but after getting one, I now enjoy typing. I like the sound of these Cherry MX browns. Some people like the blues. You can’t go wrong either way. They’re great to type on. Mechanical keyboards have their own unique personalities. From the simple Leopold Tenkeyless to the highly sought after HHKB Pro 2. Typing shouldn’t be a chore. Most people probably won’t be competing on typeracer for leisure, but mechanical keyboards will make you smile. It’s like buying a luxury car. Sure, you don’t NEED leather heated seat with power everything but if you can afford it, why not treat yourself? Especially a tool that you will spend years using. Once you punch the keys, you will see the light
