Although Cydia has been pretty dry this week, many the few jailbreak tweak releases that have been put out have been interesting ones worth taking a peek at.
The best of this week 3D Touch Notifications – $1.49Probably my favorite release this week has been 3D Touch Notifications, a tweak that builds off of the 3D Touch feature baked into iOS 9 to give you new shortcuts and accessibility throughout iOS without even having to be inside of an app itself to do things.
With 3D Touch Notifications, you’re able to peek and pop your notifications on the Lock screen and in Notification Center, giving you a menu with features for responding to and performing actions based on those notifications. The tweak supports a variety of system apps and even supports notifications from Recents 2, a popular jailbreak tweak from the same developer.
3D Touch Notifications is compatible with revealMenu on non-3D Touch devices, but to learn more about how that works, you’ll have to head over to our full review.
Fingal – FreeAmong one of the releases this week that got me the most excited was Fingal, a new theming platform for iOS that adds motion to app icons on your Home screen.
Fingal supports its own built-in theme, which changes some icons around, but because its a theming platform and not just a tweak, third-party developers are free to create even more motion themes that are Fingal compatible and release them as separate packages in Cydia.
In our example, we’re using a free theme add-on for Fingal known as ShakeIt Plus, which keeps the look and feel of the original iOS 9 icons, but adds motion to them to give them a little life as you can see in the screenshot example above. Different themes, on the other hand, can add motion and change icons completely from their stock look.

Grams – $0.99Grams was another very cool release this week, allowing those with an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus to use their 3D Touch display to actually weigh light objects weighing up to 385 grams. The tweak adds a widget to Control Center where all the data is displayed in real time.
This tweak requires the use of a capactitative object, such as a spoon, for the electrical signals to pass through while using the touch screen, then, you can place a light object on the spoon and do a little math and find the weight of the specific object you’re weighing.
Grams is very much a proof-of-concept type of tweak, rather than a utility you might use for practical reasons, but what has our interest is the fact that the developer was thinking outside of the box and found a way to use a device’s hardware for something other than what it was designed for.

The jailbreak community is in a particularly exciting situation right now. With the Fugu14 untether now available and jailbreak developers diligently working to incorporate it into existing tools, many jailbreakers are avidly waiting to experience an untethered jailbreak for the first time since iOS 9. In the meantime, it can already be used to keep the unc0ver jailbreak app signed indefinitely via the latest version of AltStore.
Of course, the world continues to turn even as we wait for the aforementioned to happen, and many exciting jailbreak tweak releases and jailbreak-related news tidbits surfaced throughout this past week.
In today’s roundup, we’ll discuss all the latest jailbreak-centric news breaks, including jailbreak tweak releases, spanning the time period between Monday, November 1st and Sunday, November 7th. As usual, we’ll kick things off by showcasing our favorite releases first and then wrap things up with an outline of everything else afterward.
Our favorite releases this week Cyrch – FREECyrch makes it much easier to find the repository you’ve added to your sources list without having to do so much scrolling, and it’s useful because the number of third-party repositories that jailbreakers depend on for tweaks is exponentially higher than it was just a few years ago.

NotchBanners – $1.99The notch is an often debated feature of modern iPhones — some users love it, others don’t mind it, and the rest absolutely hate it. But some jailbreak tweaks like NotchBanners are trying to give it more purpose.
Just as the name implies, NotchBanners uses the notch on iPhones that have one as a sizing guide for incoming notification banners. As a result, incoming banners look like they’re coming from the notch.

iOS 15.1 Kernel Exploit: A hacker showed off a kernel exploit supporting an iPhone 12 Pro Max running iOS 15.1, and it should work on other devices and older firmware versions too.
@pattern_f_ pwns iPhone XR on iOS 14.6: Using the kernel exploit proof-of-concept originally shared by security researcher Saar Amar, along with a trick from Brandon Azad’s oob_timestamp exploit, @pattern_f_ managed to share a jailbreak demo of an iPhone XR running iOS 14.6.
unc0ver: Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver jailbreak to v7.0.2 with bug fixes for devices running iOS 14.

Our favorite releases this week Diamond – $2.30There’s no disputing the fact that the iPhone’s Dock and Status Bar interfaces have changed very little over the years. Fortunately for those looking for something new and refreshing, a jailbreak tweak called Diamond brings a lot to the table.
Diamond conjoined the two interfaces into one, and it can be accessed by tapping on the SpringBoard icon or with the Reachability gesture. What appears in the Diamond interface is fully configurable, as are its aesthetics and behavior, among other things.

Sphere – $2.99Multitasking is a component of iOS that we don’t yet think has reached maturity. While it’s fairly decent on the iPad these days, iPhone users still need to jump from one application to another on a stock device. That’s why we like a new jailbreak tweak called Sphere.

VolumeMixer – FREEOne of the fundamental problems that we think iOS still has with regard to volume controls is that users can’t yet configure their volume level on a per-app basis.
VolumeMixer is a newly released and free jailbreak tweak that resolves this issue by letting users configure volume levels for their applications independently of one another.

DNDAllow is an ingenious jailbreak tweak that lets Do Not Disturb users permit specific apps through iOS’ Do Not Disturb filter, effectively letting you toggle the feature on a per-app basis.
With it, you can silence notifications from your most annoying apps and work-related apps when you’re relaxing, but still receive notifications of interest, such as text messages from your significant other.

InstaLauncher – $3.00InstaLauncher is a quick app launcher that can help you access your favorite apps in a jiff. The tweak lets you search installed apps in alphabetical order with a letter scroller and access your more recently-used apps more quickly than you could in the App Switcher.
InstaLauncher is a particularly old tweak, but it has been refreshed for iOS 11 and 12. It looks and works just a good today as it did so many years ago, and we think it’s still relevant if you want a faster and easier way to launch apps on a cluttered Home screen.

ReachIt – FREEReachIt makes the top end of the Reachability interface useful by filling the void with a Now Playing music interface so that you can see more about what’s currently playing and interact with playback controls.

VideoSwipes – FREEVideoSwipes is a simple jailbreak tweak that, again, Apple should have implemented into iOS right out of the box and didn’t.
As the name implies, this tweak brings swipe gestures to iOS’ native video player interface. You can now swipe left or right on the video interface to either rewind or fast-forward by 15 seconds, much like you can in YouTube.

In this roundup, we’ll discuss all the latest jailbreak tweaks to be released starting Monday, December 23rd and ending Sunday, December 29th.
As usual, we’ll kick things off by talking about our favorites first and then wrap things up with an outline of the rest afterward.
Our favorite releases this week Gesto for iOS 13 – $3.99I’m prone to using both the App Switcher and Control Center on my iPhone on a daily basis, and with that in mind, I’ve always been a proponent for merging the interfaces into one rather than being split and accessed separately.
Apple has yet to implement anything like this, but with a jailbreak tweak called Gesto for iOS 13, you can make this happen on any iPhone jailbroken on iOS 13 that you might have in your possession. The tweak also has oodles of configuration options to make it behave the way you want.

Pip – $2.00The Apple Watch’s Nightstand Mode is particularly nice when you have a compatible charging stand at your bedside. Whenever it detects your presence, either by movement-induced vibrations or by physical touch, it displays the time along with the charging level and a notification indicator if there are any missed notifications.
I’ve always loved this feature about the Apple Watch, and with that in mind, it may come as no surprise that many wonder why Apple hasn’t implemented something similar on the iPhone itself – especially when it’s charging by your bedside. That’s where a jailbreak tweak called Pip comes into play, as it ports a near-perfect carbon copy of the Apple Watch’s Nightstand Mode experience to the iOS platform.

Sakal – FREEIf you’re like me and you set alarms every morning to make sure you wake up on time for work, then you might take a liking to a new jailbreak tweak called Sakal.
As depicted in the screenshot examples above, this simple tweak displays the next alarm in your alarm queue on the Lock screen so that you never forget that you have an alarm set. If you don’t have any alarms, then the tweak will tell you so.
