Laptop Charging Very Slowly? 6 Ways to Fix it Completely drain the charge or check for connection issues!

When the laptop is charging very slowly, it’s not always the software aspect to blame.

Problems with the charger or even a damaged cable can trigger several issues.

Completely draining the charge once or updating the BIOS worked for many.

To fix Windows PC system issues, you will need a dedicated tool

Fortect is a tool that does not simply cleans up your PC, but has a repository with several millions of Windows System files stored in their initial version. When your PC encounters a problem, Fortect will fix it for you, by replacing bad files with fresh versions. To fix your current PC issue, here are the steps you need to take:

Download Fortect and install it on your PC.

Start the tool’s scanning process to look for corrupt files that are the source of your problem

It’s no wonder that most hardware manufacturers offer a 2-year warranty on the laptop but only one year for the battery.

If you’re experiencing battery problems like slow charging, know that these issues are usually on the hardware side, but there are also some software solutions you can try.

Why is my laptop charging very slowly?

Here are a few reasons the laptop battery is charging slowly:

Issues with the charger: The primary aspect that triggers the slow battery charging in Toshiba or Lenovo laptops is the charger. If it’s not of the required power rating or the cables are not connected properly, you will likely face issues.

Battery problems: A damaged or simply battery that is too old will not charge as quickly as it did during the initial days.

Misconfigured PC settings: Several PC settings and the BIOS play a vital role in charging the battery on your laptop. So, you need to make sure everything is in order.

How do I fix a slow charging laptop? 1. Hard reset

Power off the laptop, disconnect the charger, and then remove the battery.

Now, hold the power button for 30 seconds to completely discharge the battery.

Once done, connect everything back to the way it was initially, and turn on the laptop.

Your computer motherboard has a lot of memory chips on it used by various components or to store information regarding hardware status. These memory chips usually keep data stored on them only while they are connected to a power source (battery or charger).

If you keep your laptop always connected to a power source, then these chips will keep storing the data, data that, in time may not reflect the correct current status of the hardware components and will have to be manually reset.

Updating the BIOS is a complex process; any lapses here could significantly damage the PC. We recommend you be extra cautious, and if unsure, let an expert do it.

Sometimes, simply updating the BIOS should fix things when the Dell laptop is charging very slowly. For problems related to the BIOS, manufacturers usually release an update when the issue is discovered. It’s the same way Microsoft does with its Windows updates.

3. Calibrate the battery

Completely discharge the laptop battery, so the device no longer powers on.

Once done, connect the charger and let the battery gain full power. Keep the charger connected for an additional hour, just to be sure.

Again, discharge the battery and repeat the same charging process.

Irregular battery usage and charging cycles can confuse your system or battery about the charge level stored. This can cause all kinds of problems, from slow laptop battery charging to reporting wrong battery levels.

Calibrating it will allow the battery and system to re-learn its limits to report the charge level correctly.

4. Check the battery

When a battery is new, it has a maximum charging capacity, usually printed on it. This maximum capacity slowly decreases in time to the point where it cannot hold a charge anymore and has to be replaced.

Expert tip:

This small app will display all the information you need to know about your battery. This includes the factory-designed maximum charging level, the current maximum charging level, and the wear.

As seen, the maximum factory-designed charge level on the battery was 55.000 mWh, but now the maximum level is 37.140 mWh. This means the battery is at 67.5% of its health and will have to be replaced soon if this value keeps decreasing.

5. Check charger voltage

The slow battery charging problem on the laptop might not be related at all to your machine, but the charger can be the one to blame.

Most electronic equipment use capacitors, which are components designed to store electricity for a short time. Their capacity decreases in time, the same way a battery does, which can lead to the charger not delivering enough current to your machine.

To check this, you’ll need a Voltage Tester or a Multimeter connected to the charging pins on your cable. If the value displayed is less than the output value printed on the charger, you might need to consider replacing it.

6. Battery charging limits

Some batteries don’t allow charging if the current level is above a certain value, usually 90%. This means that the battery won’t charge to 100% unless its level falls under 90%.

To check if this is your problem, let the battery discharge under 50%. Then connect the charger and keep it connected until the battery reaches its full capacity.

By now, you should have the slow battery charging issue in all laptops rectified. And the system should be up and running properly.

Before you leave, check some quick tips to extend the laptop’s battery life.

Windows 11 comes up with plenty of new features and cool improvements. However, it seems like these require higher performance, and users encounter battery drain issues.

From what they say, after upgrading the OS to the newest version, their device went from casual use to barely half of the normal terms.

For example, if laptops were able to work around 3-4 hours before, this issue slows them to a maximum of 1.5-2 hours. Since you’ll need to always check your battery and charge your device, this issue can be pretty annoying.

If you want to improve your battery life on Windows 11, check out our article.

Why do Windows 11 battery drain issues appear?

The first one implies loading too many background apps that consume battery power even if they are not being used.

Incompatibilities between your device and the newest OS specifications might be another explanation for this issue. Since Windows 11 requirements are official, we suggest checking if your laptop meets them.

Considering Windows 11 doesn’t support old devices, aged devices can be another reason for battery draining. Also, consider that some settings preferences can reduce its capacity.

How to fix the Windows 11 draining battery issue? 1. Reduce the screen brightness 2. Enable the battery saver 3. Adjust Battery Video Playback

A great method to fix the battery drain issue on your Windows 11 device is to adjust your system settings to optimize the display when viewing HDR videos. When viewing HDR content on your device, your display’s brightness automatically turns up in order to show you bright and vibrant images. You can manually configure display settings to optimize for battery life instead.

1. Press the Windows key on your keyboard and type Settings in the search box.

5. Ensure that both Don’t automatically process the video when on battery and Play the video at a lower resolution when on battery are checked.

Expert tip:

7. Navigate to HDR.

8. Tap the drop-down menu beside Battery Options and select Optimize for battery life.

4. Optimize the Power Plan 5. Use the Dynamic Refresh Rate Mode 6. Prevent apps from running in the background

Since battery usage depends on how many apps are loading and running in the background, you should prevent this by closing unimportant ones. Additionally, you can try Battery Optimizer that will automatically perform a scan of your PC and make changes in order to extend battery life.

Certain apps drain your battery faster than others. Thus, you should take a look at this guide on how to check battery usage & health in Windows 11.

Moreover, to make sure you won’t get viruses and to save your battery as much as possible read how to block potentially unwanted apps on your Windows device.

What apps drain your Windows 11 battery the most?

For example, video games with medium and high requirements need a lot of computer power from the graphics card and also from the processor. And that’s why they can drain your battery really fast.

Using web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, or Opera, with a lot of tabs opened at once will also drain a lot of battery. Instead, you can try using Microsoft Edge, and this is how to enable its Efficiency mode on Windows 11.

Moreover, running the new integrated Android apps may get Windows 11 into the battery drain issue.

As you can notice, there are plenty of methods you can try to stop your Windows 11 battery from draining. It’s not mandatory to use all of them but to get the best out of it, we recommend doing it.

Keeping your device on a high-performance plan can simplify your work, so checking how to use the ultimate power plan in Windows will surely make a huge difference.

Instagram Not Sharing To Facebook? 6 Ways To Fix

Facebook bought Instagram back in 2012. Since then, the company worked hard to bring the two social media platforms together. They remain separate platforms, but cross-posting and sharing stories simultaneously on Facebook and Instagram is possible. It is even possible to link your Instagram account to Facebook.

You don’t need multiple apps, and you don’t need to copy and paste your posts manually. Since you can link the social media accounts, it is easy to post on multiple platforms, but sometimes a link might glitch, and cross-posting becomes impossible. In this article, you’ll learn several ways of fixing the issue and allowing Instagram to share with Facebook again.

Table of Contents

1. Re-logon to Instagram and Facebook

Let’s start with the simplest solution on the list. If your Instagram account is not sharing to Facebook, it doesn’t necessarily mean the issue is complex. An easy solution is often enough to solve it. Try logging out of your Instagram and Facebook accounts and logging back in. Here is how to do it on both iOS and Android devices.

1. Open your Instagram app and go to your profile.

2. Tap the hamburger menu on the top right corner of the screen.

3. Open Settings.

4. Scroll down to the Log Out option.

5. Logging out of Facebook is the same as from Instagram. Just follow the same steps in the Facebook app.

Once you are successfully logged out, log back in and try sharing an Instagram post to see if this fixed your problem. If you’re having problems because you forgot your Instagram password, check our detailed guide on what to do.

2. Clear the App Cache

The cache is where your Instagram or Facebook app keeps files that will help them run faster the next time you use them. Sometimes, these files get corrupted and the app can’t work properly. Cache files are not necessary for the App to run but are helpful. There will be no consequences if you delete them as the apps will create new cache files for future use. If you think this might be your main issue, try deleting the app cache. Here is how to do it.

How to Clear App Cache on Your Android

1. Go to the phone’s Settings app.

2. Navigate to Apps and then Manage Apps. Depending on what Android device you have, “Manage Apps” could be missing, and instead, you would see a list of apps you have on your phone. Either way, this is where you should be.

4. Other models of Android phones might have a Storage section in the App. When you enter Storage you will be given two options: Clear Data or Clear Cache. Tap the second option.

How to Clear App Cache on Your iPhone

iPhone users don’t have the option to clear the app’s cache. Instead, you will have to completely reinstall the app to get rid of the cached files.

1. Go to the phone’s Settings and tap on General.

2. Select iPhone Storage and find Instagram or Facebook on the list.

3. Tap the app and select Delete app. You can also tap on Offload App if you want to keep any data from the app.

4. Now go to the Apple Store and simply install the app again.

It doesn’t matter if you have an Android or iOS device, you will have to follow these steps to delete the cache or reinstall, for both Instagram and Facebook.

3. Change Your Facebook Password

Sometimes Instagram won’t share the posts to Facebook due to a corrupted session. This happens when either Instagram or Facebook malfunctions during data processing when sharing. When you change your Facebook password, the app automatically logs you out of all other sessions. This might fix your problem.

But you need to learn how to change your Facebook password first.

2. Tap the wheel icon to go to Settings.

3. Go to Security, choose Security and login. You can also opt to simply type “Security” and login in the search bar inside Settings.

4. Next, find the Login section and tap Change password. It should have a key icon next to it.

5. You will have to type in your current password in the first field, your new password in the second, and repeat the new password in the third bar. To finish the process tap Update Password.

Keep in mind that once the password is changed, the app will log you out of Facebook, and you will have to log back in using the newly created password.

4. Check the Link Between Facebook and Instagram Platforms

Instagram and Facebook accounts need to be linked to be able to share posts from one platform to another. However, a bug can randomly break this link.

Here is how to check if the accounts are still linked:

1. Open your Instagram app and go to your profile.

2. Tap the hamburger icon to enter Settings.

3. Go to Account.

4. Tap on Sharing to Other Apps.

5. There will be a list of social platforms to which Instagram can be linked. Find Facebook and check if it’s blue and has a blue checkmark next to it. This means the accounts are linked.

5. Re-establish the Link Between Instagram and Facebook

If you checked the link between your Instagram and Facebook accounts and it seems to be fine, but you are still unable to share the posts, maybe the link between the accounts is malfunctioning. This may happen if you recently changed the password on one of the platforms. The password change logs you out of the app, but the other app keeps the existing link with the account that no longer uses the old password.

This means that if you changed Facebook, your accounts are still linked but Facebook won’t let Instagram in. Cross-posting is then impossible. Try re-establishing the link and see if this fixes the problem.

1. Open Instagram and go to your profile. Enter Settings through the hamburger menu.

2. Go to Account, and then Sharing to Other Apps (just like you did in the previous section).

3. Find Facebook on the list and tap it to unlink the accounts.

4. If the apps display as if not linked, tap Facebook and log in using your Facebook login credentials.

5. Tap the Facebook profile you want to be connected to Instagram, and the link between the accounts will be finalized. However, if you never linked the accounts before, a new pop-up window will appear saying Turn on Facebook Sharing? Tap yes.

You should do these steps each time you change the password to Instagram or Facebook. Re-establishing the link between the two accounts will secure the platforms working properly.

6. Remove Instagram from Facebook

This is the last resort to fixing your Instagram not sharing with Facebook issues. You should do this only if you believe nothing else will help. Removing Instagram from Facebook will delete all the previous posts that you shared from Instagram to Facebook.

1. Open the Facebook app and go to Settings.

2. Navigate to Apps and Websites in the Security section.

3. Find a menu named Logged in with Facebook. This is the place where you will find a list of apps and websites to which you logged in using your Facebook account. Keep in mind that some models of Android phones won’t have this section but will automatically display the apps and websites to which you connected through Facebook. If Instagram is on that list, remove it.

Now you will need to re-link the accounts by using the previous method.

If the problem persists you won’t have any other choice but to contact customer support. Do it for both apps through their help centers which can easily be found online.

Wifi Slow On Laptop: 9 Ways To Fix Your Internet Speed

A slow Wi-Fi connection is not an uncommon problem on laptops, and thousands of users suffer from it every day, even when the issue can be fixed in no time.

But before we head to the solutions, it’s imperative that you find out whether the problem appears across devices or whether the Wi-Fi is slow on a laptop but fast on mobile.

Why WiFi is slow on my laptop?

Here are some of the reasons why the Wi-Fi is slow on laptops but fast on other devices:

Any of these, or a bunch of other issues, may be responsible for slow Wi-Fi on HP and other laptops.

How can I make my laptop WiFi faster?

If you have slow Internet on a new laptop, make these quick and simple changes to increase the Internet speed:

Move the laptop closer to the Wi-Fi router.

If there are other wireless devices in the vicinity, remove them since their signal may be the reason behind the slow Wi-Fi speed on laptop.

If your Wi-Fi has dual bands, 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, connect to the latter.

In case you are willing to let go of the wireless connection, switching to Ethernet should considerably increase the Internet speed due to reduced signal losses.

How do I fix slow WiFi on my computer?

Before we head to the slightly complex solutions, here are a few quick things you can do if Wi-Fi is only slow on PC:

Turn off the router, wait for a minute, and then turn it back on. Now verify if the Internet speed has increased.

Reduce the distance between the router and the laptop. It’s best to keep the laptop within a 3-5 m range of the router.

Restart the computer. In case there are several background processes consuming a major share of the bandwidth, this should work as a temporary solution.

Disable any VPN you have set up. VPNs reroute the connection and, in the process, reduce the Wi-Fi speed.

Disconnect other devices connected to the same router and see if there’s an improvement. In case there isn’t any, the problem likely lies with the driver or configured network settings.

Switch to a High Performance power plan in case you are currently on Balanced or Power Saver.

Reset the router. There is usually a button for it on the router itself, which, when held for a few seconds, automatically resets the router. Check the router manual for the exact steps.

If none of these work or don’t apply in your case, here are the more effective solutions to fix slow Wi-Fi on laptop:

1. Disable Location services

A few users managed to fix things when Wi-Fi was low only on one laptop by disabling Location. Do try it and check if it helps improve the speed in your case.

2. Re-enable the Wi-Fi adapter

Now, check if the slow Wi-Fi problem on your laptop is fixed. If not, head to the next solution.

This is the automatic method to update drivers and isn’t always helpful. That’s why we recommend you manually update the network drivers in Windows.

To make sure that the installation is safe and fast, we recommend you use a third-party tool, Outbyte Driver Updater, which is specialized in driver updates.

⇒ Get Outbyte Driver Updater

4. Disable metered connection

Expert tip:

3. Disable the toggle for Metered connection here.

5. Uninstall applications that consume high bandwidth 6. Boost your Wi-Fi signal

You can boost your Wi-Fi signal using an awesome software called Connectify Hotspot. This program allows you to transform your PC into a Wi-Fi hotspot just like with a router, only that it’s a lot easier to work with and has a comprehensive user interface and menus.

And if you choose the Hotspot PRO or MAX versions, you will also be able to share your 3G or 4G LTE networks.

7. Reset the network settings

If the problem lies with the network configuration, resetting it should do the trick. In case this, too, doesn’t work, you will have to go with either of the two solutions below.

Use a Wi-Fi Extender

The problems with your slow Internet connection might be caused by a blind spot or a fluctuating signal. You can fix that by using a Wi-Fi range extender.

We recommend NETGEAR Nighthawk because it creates a strong and steady Wi-Fi signal, exactly what you’re looking for.

It’s easy to set up, and you can connect it to the router using the WPS button or its designated app. Moreover, it’s a really small device that won’t interfere with any of your other setups.

NETGEAR Nighthawk has Wi-Fi coverage of up to 2500 square feet and can connect to more than 30 devices, including laptops, phones, tablets, or IP cameras. Its AX6000 Wi-Fi speed and smart roaming function recommend it as a professional device.

9. Get a new Wi-Fi card

If you are using an old laptop, it’s likely that the Wi-Fi card is not capable of handling high speeds. In this case, getting a new Wi-Fi adapter is the best way forward.

How do I change my laptop from 2.4 GHz to 5GHz?

We recommend consulting a professional who can recommend the best Wi-Fi adapter for your laptop.

6 Ways To Fix Whatsapp Not Working On Iphone (2023)

With around 2.5 billion unique users, WhatsApp is by far the most loved messaging app in the world. What gives it an edge over rivals is a wide range of cool features including status and disappearing messages. However, it’s not perfect in all aspects and does run into unexpected issues once in a while. But there is no need to lose sleep over it as we have discussed some viable ways to fix WhatsApp not working on iPhone.

Tips to Fix WhatsApp Not Working on iPhone

So, what ails WhatsApp? There could be a cluster of roadblocks that could be coming in the way. Maybe you haven’t upgraded the messaging app for a while. Or, maybe the app is faced with a miscellaneous issue that your eyes are unable to spot. Besides, the poor Internet connection could also be a critical factor. Fortunately, addressing each one of these possible reasons is not a big deal.

While it may not seem to be a direct solution, I would recommend you check your Internet connectivity. If the cellular or Wi-Fi network is sluggish, it would impact the functioning of the messaging app.

After waiting for a few seconds, tap on the Airplane Mode icon to turn it off.

Next, launch WhatsApp and try to use it to figure out if the app has come back on track.

If it’s been a while since you updated WhatsApp on your iPhone, there is a good chance that the devil could very well be hidden inside the outdated version.

Once the app has been successfully updated, open WhatsApp and use it for some time to check if you have sorted out the problem.

4. Check WhatsApp Status

If WhatsApp continues to misbehave on your iPhone, make sure that the messaging app is going through a technical outage. I mean ensure that the WhatsApp server is not down.

Some rare software bugs could also be making life difficult for WhatsApp. Hence, be sure your iPhone is running the latest version of iOS. Just in case your iOS device hasn’t got the update for quite some, it wouldn’t be wrong to blame a bug for the whole mishap.

Let your device check for the available update. After that, download and install the latest iOS version on your iPhone.

6. Delete and Reinstall WhatsApp (Last Resort)

If nothing has worked in bringing WhatsApp back on track, delete and reinstall the app. But before going for this radical solution, make sure you have fully backed up the app to ensure your messages won’t be lost.

After that, back up the entire chat. If you want to back up the videos as well, make sure to turn on the toggle for Include Videos.
