Suggested January 2024 Latest Xbox World Issue Reveals Next Xbox Details
The final Xbox World magazine will be coming in December, but before that happens the publisher has used their penultimate issue to spill a bunch of details on the next Xbox, codenamed “Durango”. According to an eight-page feature article, the next Xbox will use Blu-ray discs, introduce a second-generation Kinect, directional audio, an “innovative controller” and TV inputs as well as outputs. They also speculate the next Xbox will just be called “Xbox”.
The report also details the hardware of the next Xbox development kits, which apparently come with a four-core chipset (with 16 logical cores) and a large 8 GB of RAM. Editor-in-chief Dan Dawkins expects that “unless something really dramatic changes, everything we reveal in our penultimate issue will be revealed long before E3 in June.” The magazine also reports that augmented reality glasses with be introduced during the latter years of the console’s life.
Also, using industry sources and past Microsoft leaks, the magazine has developed a 3D mock-up of the next generation console. Their render uses the same VaporMG magnesium alloy case used on the Surface, and the silver band has been modelled from the Wedge touch keyboard and Arc Touch mouse. ”The future will be black, sharp and curved.”
These leaked details line-up with a number of previous leaks, including the old Xbox 720 roadmap from June which listed DVR capabilities and a Blu-ray drive for the next Xbox, and SDK leaks featuring 8 GB of RAM and multi-core CPUs.

How To Pull Ips On Xbox?
The Xbox has a hefty network menu, allowing you to easily see and change your IP address. Seeing someone else’s IP is not as easy, though.
We’re guiding you through both processes. In other words, we can teach you to find your IP and change your IP. And before that, we’re teaching you to find the IP address of another player. That way, you’ll be able to find your fellow gamers’ internet service providers and their actual location -not the full address, but their country of residence.
We’re not asking you why you want to do this. However, we must clarify that you need third-party software for the task. You won’t be able to do it through the Xbox’s user interface.
Pulling the IPS of another player will allow you to check the actual location of Xbox users. There’re valid uses for the operation. You may avoid scams and wrongdoings. For example, if a user claims to be in a country, but he’s somewhere else, that may be trouble.
You need to be aware of the legal side of checking someone else’s IP without the other person knowing. Tracking IP addresses is legal, which is why all IP addresses are public. You’re in the right to know the basic physical address of the people you interact with more often on the internet. As I said, It can help you avoid suspicious activity, verify the validity of someone else’s claims, and stay away from shady people.
However, it’s not legal to do anything with the information you find. Please, only go as far as verifying the info. For example, you can’t sell it, publish it online (doxing), or use it for hacking purposes.
Lastly, someone pulling your IP could be trying to do a DDoS attack on your network, damaging your connection. So, knowing how to pull IP on Xbox will help you stay protected from hacking and scams. Namely, keep your Gamertag hidden, don’t open untrustworthy links, and avoid playing online with dishonest people.
That said, you can find the Xbox IP address of someone else in various ways, and we’re sharing the easiest ones.
The straightforward method is putting the player’s Gamertag (profile name) on an IP resolver. These will deliver the IP address and their city and country of residence. If the service doesn’t provide the address, you may need to use an extra IP lookup service to check the gamer’s address and ISP.
Once you find the IP address you’re looking for, you need to copy it on an IP lookup service to check the gamer’s address. The process will also yield the internet service provider of others. That said, our solutions should not require extra technical knowledge. You can follow these methods as a beginner.
Let’s break down these steps.
It is possible to hide the Gamertag through the Xbox’s privacy settings. Most people don’t do that, though. So, you can check the Gamertag like so:
Press the Xbox button on your controller.
Go to the People tab.
Browse the options to find the Gamertag of your friend.
If you don’t have that person added as a Friend, you may find the Gamertag while you’re talking to him on a Party chat.
Alternatively, you can follow these steps:
Press the Xbox button on the controller.
Go to People.
Go to Find Someone.
Type the name of the person you’re looking for, or try to find him on the list of suggested friends.
Another way to find the Gamertag is by playing a competitive multiplayer game together. You may find the profile name on the leaderboard charts.
Anyhow, when you find the Gamertag, write it down. However, it is possible to hide the Gamertag through the Xbox’s privacy settings.
So if you can’t find the person, you should not try to bypass their privacy further. A better alternative would be to avoid playing with the shady person altogether.
You’ll need to go to your PC for the next steps and have the Gamertag of the person you want to check.
The easiest and most common method to transform the Gamertag into an IP address is by using the Xbox IP resolver. IP Resolves are third-party professional tools that offer what you need for free (most of the time). These programs allow you to find another player’s IP address, but you need their Gamertag to make it work.
There’re various Xbox IP resolvers you can try in case one of them doesn’t work. For now, here’re the steps:
The Resolver tool will yield the IP address, city, and country of residence.
For example, the service we shared delivers all of this information:
IP address.
Country of residence.
Region (state, department, or similar).
City.
Internet service provider.
Timezone.
Zip code.
Let’s explore an alternative tool in case the resolver doesn’t work.
Wireshark is a tool that analyzes network protocols. As such, it helps you get IP addresses. The tool works when you’re playing with the person you want to check. In essence, this is an Xbox IP puller that sniffs the IP address of other members of your gaming party.
Wireshark doesn’t work on Xbox, though. You have to install it on your PC and then pass over the PC’s connection to the Xbox (similar to how a VPN works).
The first part of the process is setting up Internet Sharing. Here’re the requisites:
Your PC needs to have two Ethernet ports. Check on the back to see how many Ethernet ports you have. If this is not the case, your PC can connect to the router via Wi-Fi.
The router must be close to your PC, Xbox, and TV or monitor. If this is not the case, then your Xbox and PC must be close-by.
Now, here’re the steps for Internet Sharing:
Go back to the Adaptor Settings menu.
It’s time to turn on the Xbox and test the connection by opening a multiplayer game. Now that you have the Internet Sharing set up, it’s time to use Wireshark. Here’re the steps:
Once you have an IP address candidate, please write it down. Wireshark won’t tell you further details of the IP. If you got the IP address but not the IP details, you can check the IP online to see its information. You can find many IP services by typing “IP lookout” on Google. These services are generally free.
Still, here’re the specific steps:
Lastly, let’s check how to find your IP address on an Xbox One or Xbox Series console.
Turn on the Xbox.
Press the controller’s Xbox button.
Select Profile & system.
Select Settings.
Select General.
Go to Network Settings.
Select Advanced Settings.
The IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway Address are on the right side of the screen, under “Connection.”
If your internet is unreliable, you can swap your IP address for a static one.
A static IP address is a number you select that doesn’t change. As a result, it’s stabler than its counterpart, a dynamic IP address.
A dynamic IP address is a number the router assigns to a device every time it logs up. It shares most numbers with the static IP, and here’re the steps to get one:
Go back to the Network menu, and elect Advanced Settings
If the connection is not working, try again by adding other values to the last digit.
Best Xbox Controller For Pc: Hand
While most gamers will be happy with a middle-of-the-road pick, those who play competitively (or like to pretend they do) might want a controller with more capabilities. And those on a budget might want to save some cash for PC components and other upgrades. We’ve tested the most popular controllers to find something for everyone.
Updated 06/15/2023: Check out our latest review of the 8BitDo Ultimate Bluetooth Controller. This lightweight and comfortable controller may be aimed at Nintendo Switch owners, but it also works with pretty much everything including Windows, Android, and iOS.
Xbox Wireless Controller (2023) – Best Xbox controller for PC
Pros
USB-C port is better for long-term support
Bluetooth connectivity
Refined, more tactile d-pad
Grippy textures and slimmer body
Cons
Rechargeable battery is not included
Share button is hard to reach
Best Prices Today:
Microsoft updated its standard Xbox controller for the Series X and S launch in 2023, and it’s still the best Xbox controller for most PC gamers. It has a refined design, comfortable hand-feel, and importantly, Bluetooth connectivity so you don’t need to add a new wireless dongle to your PC. Plus, it costs just $60, and often less when on sale.
Pairing the Xbox controller is completely painless. Simply long-press the Bluetooth button on the top edge, and select the controller in your PC’s Bluetooth settings. It will mesh perfectly with the controller settings in most Windows games, and there’s no additional software to muck around with.
Part of the reason for the lower weight is that the standard controller doesn’t have a built-in rechargeable battery. The continued reliance on AA batteries makes it lighter (even with the batteries installed), but keeping a box of batteries handy is less convenient than just plugging in a USB-C cable. There’s a USB-C port on top for wired gaming, but it won’t charge the controller unless you get the add-on battery pack.
While the Series X/S Xbox controller is recognized in Windows, there are no profiles or customizations like you get with the Elite Series 2. That’s probably fine as the standard controller lacks the additional rear paddle buttons of the Elite.

PowerA Enhanced Xbox controller – Best budget Xbox controller for PC
Pros
Much lighter than official controller
Physical volume toggle
Only costs about $30
Programmable buttons
Cons
Uses old microUSB port instead of USB-C
Mushy d-pad
No wireless connectivity
Best Prices Today:
For PC gamers on a budget, look no further than the PowerA Enhanced Xbox Controller. While it’s a little larger than the 2023 Xbox controller, the PowerA unit is much lighter thanks to its lack of batteries. Yes, this is a wired controller, but your PC is probably going to be close to where you game, whereas a console is most likely across the room.
If you can cope with the removable cable and its aging microUSB connector, the PowerA controller does everything the standard controller does and more. For example, there’s a hardware toggle right in the middle for volume control, and there are two programmable buttons on the back of the grips.
The button layout is identical to the standard controller, save for the additional controls mentioned above. The buttons don’t feel quite as stable as Microsoft’s controller, and the d-pad is mushy. However, it only costs about $30 most days, which is half the price of the official controller.

Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2 – Best premium Xbox controller for PC
Pros
Durable and nice in the hand
Built-in battery and USB-C charging
Fully programmable buttons
Customizable button and thumbstick hardware
Cons
Expensive
Heavier than stock controller
Best Prices Today:
If you take your gaming seriously, there’s no better way to go than Microsoft’s Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller. It’s slightly heavier than the standard Series X gamepad, but it has a long-lasting rechargeable battery, which saves you from stocking up on AA batteries. Plus, the hard plastic body gives way to soft, rubberized grips that make for a very cozy hand-feel.
This is a controller that adapts to you. The dish-shaped metal d-pad is more precise and tactile than the one on the standard controller, and the adjustable triggers can speed up your actions in shooters. Both thumbsticks and the d-pad are removable, and the Elite Series 2 comes with alternate attachments. For example, there are longer sticks, sticks with domed tops, and a traditional cross-shaped d-pad.
Pairing with your PC is just as quick and easy as it is with the stock controller, but there is an extra step after that. You’ll need the Microsoft Xbox Accessories app to update the firmware and configure the controller’s profusion of added features. Via this software, all the buttons are remappable, including the rear-facing paddles. You can even create “shift” layers that change button functions when you hold one of the paddles. Just because you make a ton of alterations for one game doesn’t mean you’re stuck with that layout when you switch to a different one. The controller can retain multiple profiles, and you can instantly swap between them by tapping the center button.
The main drawback here is the price, which clocks in at a whopping $180. Microsoft makes a version of this controller called the Elite Series 2 Core that costs a bit less at $130. However, this one doesn’t come with the extra buttons and thumbsticks—if you care about the features offered by the Elite controller, you’ll care about having that stuff. That said, the Elite Series 2 is only worth buying if you are playing games competitively or like to pretend you are.

Depending on your budget, you might have to make compromises on a controller’s features. But knowing how different features can affect your experience will help you make an informed choice.
FeelYour gameplay experience can be greatly impacted by the build quality of a controller. Mushy or wobbly buttons can be frustrating and cause mistakes in your games. Likewise, a controller that isn’t comfortable to hold can be the difference between going out on a win and giving up.
ConnectivityMost controllers today are wireless, but there are times you might want to use a cable. A controller that sports both Bluetooth and a USB-C port offers the most options for connecting to your PC.
PowerWireless controllers need power, and the way you keep them juiced up can vary. Cheaper controllers with AA battery compartments get the job done, but an integrated battery charged via USB-C is more convenient.
CustomizationThe modern Xbox controller layout is tried and true, and the majority of controllers adhere to that standard—for most people, that’s fine. For those who take their gaming more seriously, features like button remapping, programmable controls, and hardware customizations are nice to have.
How we test controllersPCWorld’s freelance and staff contributors have untold years of combined experience with gaming hardware, and the best way to test a controller is to rack up even more time gaming. We put controllers to the test in multiple genres, including shooters, RPGs, and fighters. This varied gaming experience helps to reveal any hardware shortcomings or latency issues.
We pay special attention to how, if at all, a controller’s unique features change the experience. Some may make games more enjoyable, but others are just a novelty or a waste of money. Our analysis also includes testing both wired and wireless capabilities, where applicable. If controllers require additional software to access all their features, we dive into that as well.
