How to fix Microsoft Edge window position issues?Microsoft Edge is a great browser, but some users encountered issues with window position in Edge. This is usually a minor problem, and speaking of Edge issues, here are some similar problems that users reported:
Microsoft Edge not retaining window position – Many users complained that Microsoft Edge won’t remember window position on their PC. This can be an annoying problem, but you should be able to fix it by installing the latest updates.

This is just a minor and harmless issue, therefore it might not be fixed in the near future. Nevertheless, be sure to regularly use Windows Update and keep your Windows 10 up to date.

Solution 6 – Launch Microsoft Edge using a desktop shortcutThis is another workaround, but according to users, it might be helpful if you’re having problems with Edge and window position. It seems that Edge resets its window position and size if you start it using the Taskbar or Start Menu icon.
However, if you start the application using the desktop shortcut, the application will retain its size and position. This sounds like a strange workaround, but it works according to users, so you might want to try it out.
Solution 7 – Create a new user accountSometimes this problem can occur due to a corrupted user account. Your account can get corrupted for various reasons, and if that happens, you might encounter window position issues in Microsoft Edge.
After you create a new account, switch to it and check if the problem is still there. If the issue doesn’t appear, you’ll have to move all your personal files to the new account and start using it instead of your old one.
Solution 8 – Use PowerShell to reset EdgeAccording to users, if you’re having Microsoft Edge window position problems, you might be able to solve them simply by resetting Edge to the default.

What is Microsoft Edge’s Drop
Microsoft Edge Drop is a new feature that allows users to send files, notes, and links to themselves across their devices with Edge browser installed. It works by storing the files in your OneDrive account and then making them available to you in any Edge browser that is signed in with the same Microsoft account.

How to enable the Microsoft Edge Drop
The Drop feature has been in development since June 2023 but it’s only rolling out to everyone as part of Microsoft’s April 2023 update for the Edge web browser. You can access the Drop feature on the Microsoft Edge app on your desktop as well as on its phone app provided you update the apps on the respective platforms. In case you don’t have it installed on your devices, you can check out this link to download it on your devices.
You can update the Microsoft Edge app on iOS and Android by going to these App Store and Play Store links on your phone and then tapping on Update when it’s available. Once the update is installed, the Drop feature will be enabled on it automatically.
Once the Drop toggle is turned on, you should see a new Drop tile inside the right sidebar here.
You can now start using the Drop feature to send and view files and notes inside Microsoft Edge.

How to use Microsoft Edge Drop to share files and notes on a computer
You should now see the Drop interface on the right side of the browser showing you the initial set of instructions on how to use the feature. Similar to a messaging service, you should see a text box at the bottom where you can type notes you want to access across all devices. There will also be a + icon on the left side of this text box that you can use to upload images, documents, and files from your computer.
The note should now appear inside the Drop box in a conversations-like view.
Alternatively, you can share files by dragging and dropping them onto the Drop interface.
The files and images you shared will also appear inside the Drop box on the right and will be visible on other devices.

How to use Microsoft Edge Drop to share files and notes on an iPhone or Android
To start sharing files and notes from your phone, launch the Microsoft Edge app and tap on the 3-dot icon at the bottom.
In the menu that appears on the screen, tap on Drop.
You should now see the Drop window appear on your screen with the “Welcome to Drop” message if this is the first time you’re using this feature. To continue, tap on Start at the bottom.
Similar to the interface you accessed on the PC, you should see a set of instructions on how to share files and notes with Drop. This screen will have a text box at the bottom to share notes as well as a + icon beside it to upload files from your phone.
To share notes across other devices, type your message inside the text box at the bottom and then tap on the Send icon at the bottom right corner.
The shared notes should be visible inside the Drop screen like a conversation.
To share files from your phone, tap on the + icon at the bottom left corner.
From the overflow menu that appears, select the type of content you want to share – Document, Picture, or Camera.
On the next screen, select the files you want to send and then tap on Add at the top right corner.
The selected files will now be visible inside the Drop screen and accessible across all of your eligible devices.
How to access and download files from Edge Drop on a computer
If you’ve shared files on Drop from one device and want to access them on another device, you can follow these steps to get it done.
When you do that, you get options to open the file on OneDrive, copy it, open it in a folder, or remove it from Drop.

How to access and download files from Edge Drop on an iPhone or Android
To view the files you shared from another device on your phone, open the Microsoft Edge app and tap on the 3-dots icon at the bottom.
In the menu that appears on the screen, tap on Drop.
In the Drop menu that shows up, you will see all the notes and files that were shared from another device appear on the left and the ones shared from this phone will appear on the right. To open a file from another device directly on the Edge app, tap on its preview or tap on the 3-dots icon to access additional options.

How To Enable Ie Mode In Microsoft Edge Chromium
Microsoft deprecated Internet Explorer in favor of Edge Chromium in recent builds of Windows 10. The new browser, which comes with a plethora of cool new features also includes a compatibility mode for the Trident MSHTML engine from Internet Explorer 11. Known as ‘IE Mode‘, the feature helps load old websites and supports old applications that haven’t been updated to work with the Chromium-based software (or other newer browsers). So today, we will show you how to enable or activate IE Mode in Microsoft Edge Chromium via in-app settings and through the Windows Group Policy Editor for better compatibility with older apps and services.
Enable IE Mode on Microsoft Edge ChromiumAimed largely at enterprises that still run apps and intranet sites written for Internet Explorer, the IE Mode is available in both the legacy Edge based on the EdgeHTML engine, as well as on Edge Chromium, which started rolling out on Windows 10 early last year before being expanded to other desktop and mobile platforms. However, since the legacy Edge itself has been deprecated, our tutorial will deal exclusively with Edge Chromium. So without further delay, let’s check out how you can enable or activate IE Mode in Microsoft Edge Chromium on your Windows 10 PC.
What is IE Mode in Microsoft Edge Chromium?IE (Internet Explorer) Mode on Microsoft Edge Chromium is a compatibility mode that helps the browser render older sites and webpages written for Internet Explorer. It also enables enterprise users to use all of the sites their organization needs in a single browser.
The IE Mode uses the integrated Chromium engine for modern sites and the Trident MSHTML engine from Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) for legacy sites. As part of the functionality, only those sites that you specifically configure (via policy) will use IE mode, while all other sites will be rendered using the new engine.
Method 1: Using In-app Settings2. Now select Default Browser on the left pane. If you’re not in full-screen mode, the option may be hidden behind a hamburger menu (three small parallel horizontal lines) on the top-left.
Method 2: Using Local Group Policy Editor
You can also enable IE Mode on Microsoft Edge Chromium with Group Policy. However, to do that, you will have to download the policy template from the official Microsoft website. Here’s how you go about it:

Note: The Group Policy Editor is only available in Professional and Enterprise editions of Windows 10. It is not available in Windows 10 Home.
8. First, enable this option [1] in the same manner as described earlier. Then set the path to your XML-sitelist [2], either as URL or as UNC if you’re using a local XML file. Finally, hit OK [3] at the bottom to save your changes.
Note: If you don’t have an Enterprise Mode site list, download the Enterprise Mode Site List Manger v2 from Microsoft (free). Make sure to specify your language before downloading.
Enable IE Mode on Microsoft Edge Chromium for Compatibility With Old Apps and WebsitesThe guide above works for Microsoft Edge Chromium v77.0.223 or higher (the latest version is Edge 88) in Windows 10 v1903 with KB4503293 or higher and KB4501375 or higher or v1809 with KB4509479 or higher. Once you enable IE mode, you will be able to run older websites and intranet pages, while still loading newer websites using Chromium.

All three stick with a single design approach: a 6.7-inch display, triple cameras, big batteries, and what looks like reasonable pricing for each tier, though each tier has its own competitors, of course. There’s also no curved screen this time around, with flat panels.
And while the Edge 20 Pro is Motorola’s flagship within the company, it’s not quite a complete top-of-the-line model; it skips the Snapdragon 888 for the Snapdragon 870.
The Pro packs a 6.7-inch 144Hz OLED, that 870 SoC, a triple camera including 5x periscope lens, and a 4,500mAh battery. That looks decent for the £650/€700 price tag.
The Edge 20 standard version drops a few high-end features, including switching to a Snapdragon 778G chipset, and it loses the 5x lens, but it does keep the 144Hz OLED. It goes thinner than ever before for a 5G Motorola phone, at 6.99mm, which downsizes the battery to a 4,000mAh pack, but it is now a £430/€500 buy. I wonder how the battery life will hold up with the 144Hz display…
The Lite edition skimps harder, with a Dimensity 720 chipset and a 6.7-inch 90Hz OLED screen — and the triple camera has less top-line features. It does tick up to a bigger battery at 5,000mAh, though and starts at £300/€350.
One other compromise for the family: Motorola said its phones will only receive only two Android OS updates, and two years of security updates.
That’s sub-par given Samsung, OnePlus, Nokia, and Google are all offering much longer software servicing.
Edge 20 sales in Asia, the UK and other European markets, should start on August 19.
