Suggested January 2024 Put Your Facebook Account On Lockdown (Part 2)
In Part 1 of Putting Your Facebook On Lockdown, we discussed how important it was to adjust the settings in your Facebook account to protect your privacy. I gave you tips for setting up your account (or to change your current information) and showed you how to setup each category to keep your private information just that… private. Part 2 of locking down your Facebook account will cover how to protect your account information from apps and how to customize your posts so only those who are supposed to see it, do!
App securityDid you know that even if you think you’re careful of what you view or allow, it’s not only what apps and websites you allow to access your Facebook account, it’s also what your friends allow on theirs that attach to your account and impact what information is shared about you. Malware is a piece of software that is automatically installed on your computer without your knowledge. Apps are a common place for Malware to hide and can be easily added to your computer when you visit sites while logged into your Facebook account. Managing and cleaning up this section of your account requires more vigilance than simply checking a security setting box. When you open this section, you may be surprised at how may apps are actually attached to your Facebook account.
The second option is to deselect the boxes of information that you don’t want shared with the world. You can do this in the “This App Can” section of each app. As seen above, I allowed Pinterest to post on my behalf but I deleted the rest of the default sharing options.
Blocking People Custom PrivacyIn addition to each category setting above, you can customize your Facebook account further so that only specific people can see certain updates and the same can be done if you want to hide updates from certain people. Just change your “Privacy Setting” to “Custom” and the window will open where you can select who will see that information. Making lists of family, coworkers, or whoever you will send bulk email to will make this step much quicker.
Post SecurityIf you follow all of the security steps in part 1 and part 2 of Putting Your Facebook On Lockdown, you shouldn’t have any trouble with a hacked or compromised account. I will be making some changes to my account and cleaning up some things that don’t need to be there. Will you join me in making Facebook more secure for you and your family?

How To Use Android Wear Part 2: Customization
In the first installment of this series, I provided a look at Android Wear’s UI and gave an explanation of how to navigate through its various screens and cards. For part 2, let’s dive into Android Wear’s default settings and tweak things a bit. It’s possible to change your watch face, adjust how long the screen stays on, change which apps are assigned to certain tasks, and more. Some of these functions require turning to various apps on your smartphone instead of the watch, so we’ll look at both methods.
1. Watch SettingsYou can adjust certain parameters directly from the watch itself, and you can find these tucked away under the settings menu. You can get there by tapping on the watch face and swiping up until you get to the bottom of the list. Alternatively, you can just say “OK Google” followed by “Settings.”
On this screen, you will see the options to adjust brightness, toggle ambient screen (whether the watch display dims or turns off when idle), have your screen set to always be on, enable airplane mode, change the watch face, reset the watch back to its factory state, or power down.
For anything not on this list, you will need to pull out your smartphone. And depending on which smartwatch you own, some of these items may vary.
2. Android Wear appThe Android Wear app is the one you need to install in order to pair a smartwatch to your phone. It also serves as your primary hub for changing settings that would be unwieldly to try to do using the watch itself. From within this app, you can determine which apps are used to respond to your voice commands to see your steps, alarms, notes, etc. Right now primarily only Google’s offerings are supported, but more apps may appear in time.
In the settings area of the app, you have the option to prevent specific apps from sending notifications to your watch. There’s the ability to automatically silence the phone whenever the watch is connected since it receives most alerts anyway. You can also toggle whether the screen is always on. Whether or not you should do so depends on which watch you have. The LG G Watch and the Samsung Gear Live can manage a day with their screens always on, but the Moto 360 can’t.
3. Additional appsDepending on which watch you own, some settings may be tucked away behind another app. In the case of the Moto 360, you need the Motorola Connect app in order to fully tweak your device. With it, you can customize each of the default watch faces by changing the color of their background, hands, or text.
ConclusionAndroid Wear devices aren’t as customizable as traditional Android devices, but they’re more tweak-able than some of the other smartwatch platforms that have come before. And since the operating system comes to us straight from Google, there’s already a healthy app ecosystem developing around it. Stay tuned for future posts detailing the exciting things Android Wear devices will be able to do in the days, weeks, and months ahead.

2 Ways To Dislike Things On Facebook (Firefox And Google Chrome)
Ever since Facebook has introduced its “Like” functionality, many people have been wondering why there is no way to “DISlike” things there.
I am not that kind of a person that likes to “thumb-down” stuff when sharing at social media sites. When I don’t like things, I just ignore them. But still I was curious to see how the community powers social media networking: despite the fact that Facebook hasn’t introduced the “dislike” feature as if today, there are still browser-based ways to vote negatively while sharing.
1. Dislike ButtonsFaceMod is one option to dislike things on Facebook using FireFox.
The syntax: Dislike / Undislike
The philosophy:
“The Dislike Button is not for the haters! It was made to be the “yang” to facebook’s “yin”. We made this for the millions of folks who use Facebook and who, like ourselves, wanted the ability to “Dislike” things to express our sympathy or shared resentment for the distasteful, the disgraceful, and the downright rotten! “
Features include:
Very fast;
Language automatically switches based on your Facebook language settings
Facebook Dislike is another option for FireFoxers.
The syntax: Dislike / Undislike
Features include:
For Google Chrome find it here.
2. I Don’t Care Button:Fbosf is a Chrome Extension as well as the FireFox addon (find it at the plugin developer’s site – it seems to be nowhere found in FireFox official directory) that adds a link “I don’t care” next to the link “I like” on Facebook.
The syntax: I don’t care / I care
The philosophy:
Features include:
Available languages: en, fr, ar, bg, ca, de, he, it, pt, sv, tr

How To View Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, And More Without An Account
Decided to take a break from social media by deleting your account but still want to view the occasional post? You might have noticed a problem. Popular apps like Instagram, Facebook, and Reddit now prevent non-account holders from freely accessing content on their networks. Luckily, there are a few workarounds that can help you bypass the restriction. In this turorial, we show you how to view posts and more without signing up.
Can You View Instagram Without Logging In?While it used to be possible to view Instagram posts and profiles without an account, now things aren’t so straightforward. You do get limited access, although your experience quickly gets tainted by the repeated prompts to sign up with your username and password.
When trying to view an Instagram profile in a browser, either on desktop or mobile, you’ll be able to view a few posts, but if you scroll too far, you’ll be restricted. This happens if you’re using Firefox or Safari. In Chrome, you’ll be asked to log in from the get-go without even so much as a sneak peek of the profile you’re trying to view. The good news is that you can open posts; if you’re on PC you’ll need to open them in a new tab.
How to View Instagram Profiles and Stories Without an AccountFortunately, there’s an easy way to get around this restriction and view Instagram profiles and stories. You’ll have to use an online service such as IGAnony, but there are many other options. You can access it in your browser. One thing to keep in mind is that this works only for public accounts.
Go to IGAnony and input the username of the account you want to view. (If you don’t know the exact account username, try performing a Google search like this: “name/nickname Instagram.”)
The profile you’re looking for should show up below.
Use the tabs at the top to select the type of content you want to view: Stories, Posts, or Highlights.
Tip: make your Instagram content stand out with camera filters and effects.
Search for Hashtags and InterestsYou can’t access the Instagram’s search function without an account. Luckily, Google can help you do some basic searches. For instance, you can look for posts tagged with a certain hashtag – simply type into search something like “#technology hashtag instagram.” When I tried this I got the following results.
Furthermore, It’s possible to use a web tool such as Toolzu to search for profiles under a certain category. For instance, you can look for accounts associated with “Aquarium.”
How to View Twitter Content Without an AccountAs with Instagram, to have access to content on Twitter without an account, you’ll have to use a browser – either on your PC or mobile. If you have the Twitter app on your phone, tapping on a Twitter link will automatically open the app, which will prompt you to log in.
For those who do have an account, here’s how to search Twitter like a pro.
Read Tweets From a Particular UserIf you’re looking to read a post from a particular user, follow the steps below to find the user – even without an account.
Alternatively, you can search for the account directly in Google using “name/keyword twitter” to see the account (if they have one), as well as thumbnails, which shows their latest posts.
Note: you can’t see posts from private accounts, just like on Instagram.
Keep Up With What’s TrendingNow, maybe you were using Twitter to keep up with the latest trends. You can still do so by going to the #Explore tab and checking out the “Trends for you” section.
However, if you want to go beyond what Twitter is offering, third-party services like Trends24 offer a comprehensive view of what’s trending on Twitter. The website shows you the hottest hashtags over the last 24 hours, and you can even filter by country. The charts are upgraded every hour, so you can be sure you won’t miss anything.
Tip: had enough of Twitter? Here’s how you can delete your Twitter account.
Search TwitterSearching Twitter without having an account is possible through the #Explore tab. Use the search bar at the top to look for usernames, topics, or any other keywords.
Once you press Enter, the search will show the top tab. You can switch to other tabs, including “Latest,” “People,” “Photos,” “and Videos” if you want to view more targeted search results.
What’s interesting is that Twitter’s Advanced search option doesn’t require an account to work. You can access it by tapping the three dots next to the search bar. Next, you can start searching using a string of words, an exact phrase, hashtags, filter by languageor time, and use many other options.
How to View Facebook Content Without an AccountOnce upon a time, Facebook used to allow you to browse and search its network without many restrictions. Those days are gone now, so without an account, your experience is destined to be quite limited. Even so, there are still a few things you can do even without signing in.
View Facebook PostsBefore we proceed, keep in mind that many Facebook profiles are restricted (via Privacy settings, such as hiding their friends list) and therefore display only limited content. You won’t be able to view anything these people choose to share only with their friends on the network.
On mobile, account holders can share images with outside users via the “Share external” option. It can be accessed by opening the image in question and pressing on the three dots in the upper-right corner.
For posts with text and links, press on the three dots to the right of the postcard and select “Copy link.”
It’s possible to view Facebook content without an account on your desktop or mobile device using a browser. On mobile, you’ll get more intrusive requests to sign in with your account that can severely hamper your experience, so it may be better to use a PC instead.
Need more privacy on Facebook? Create a restricted list and share your posts and other content without worry.
Search for AccountsWithout logging in, you won’t have access to Facebook’s search, which lets you search for people. The good news is that you can still find who you’re looking for, but the results are a bit of a mixed bag – especially if the person you need to find has a pretty common name. If you’re looking for a celebrity or an institution, then it should be easy.
The first method is to use Google and perform a search among these lines “name facebook.” Once you press Enter, the search engine will list the accounts that match your query.
Social search engines like Social Searcher are also an option, although they tend to yield mixed results. On top of that, some of them require you to pay to gain full access to the data they can generate.
How to View Reddit Content Without an AccountAccessing Reddit without an account can be done, although if you want the better experience, we recommend you do so on your PC or use the mobile app. On your phone, you can also browse from the mobile browser, but you’ll be bombarded constantly by suggestions to use the app instead – unless you use a neat trick which we discuss below.
In your mobile browser, the experience is a bit annoying. You’ll constantly get asked if you want to view content using the Reddit app. The good news is that the Reddit app lets you view and browse content without issue. Just get it on your phone.
On the other hand, if, for whatever reason, you don’t want to download the app, you can use this trick to make browsing Reddit in your mobile browser bearable.
Tap on a Reddit link and open it in your mobile browser.
Replace the “www” of that link with “old.”
Now you can enjoy browsing Reddit for mobile without the constant interruptions.
Reddit currently maintains two versions of the website: the old one and the newer one, which actively invites mobile users to move to the app. The old one does not enforce any app-use restrictions, so if you don’t mind the outdated interface, this is the better way to browse Reddit in your mobile browser.
Search Reddit Without an AccountIt’s possible to search Reddit like you normally would – even with an account. Just use the search bar at the top when browsing on your desktop by using keywords. On mobile, you’ll have to tap on the hamburger menu on the right to reveal the search bar.
How to View TikTok Content Without an AccountSurprisingly, TikTok is one of the friendlier social media apps that lets non-users easily browse. It’s possible to do so on desktop or mobile using your browser of choice.
View Clips and SearchThe easiest way to access TikTok is via a link. Tap on it and let your default browser open it. Whether you’re on mobile or PC, it should work just fine, and you should be able to see the video. If, on the other hand, you’re targeting a particular user and wish to be able to browse their content, follow the path below.
Go to TikTok’s official page on desktop or mobile.
Search for the username using the bar at the top.
If you don’t want to see any particular TikToks and are just curious to see what the platform is all about, you can just browse. TikTok will automatically show you what’s trending in your region.
How to View LinkedIn Content Without an AccountIf you’ve received a LinkedIn profile link, you can view it in the browser on your PC or mobile device even without an account. Most information, such as the introduction, work experience, and education, will be available. LinkedIn has various privacy options available, so you can’t see their profile picture or additional information if it has been hidden.
Note: you can only access a limited number of profiles per day before LinkedIn will revoke your access, asking you to create an account.
Searching for PeopleYou can’t use LinkedIn’s search function and easily identify people on the network without an account. You can try using Google, but this method has yielded mixed results in testing. I personally couldn’t identify my LinkedIn account, although the results included some links that might have eventually lead to my page. On the other hand, I managed to find some acquaintances quite easily by searching for “name LinkedIn.”
An alternative would be to use the Social Searcher website, which searches for LinkedIn connections and not just Facebook contacts. It proved useful in testing.
Frequently Asked Questions Can I view the Facebook Marketplace without logging in to Facebook? No. The Facebook Marketplace is an integrated part of Facebook, so you won’t be able to access it without an account. You may want to enlist the help of a friend who has a Facebook account. The only other option is a marketplace alternative such as Craigslist.
Can I deactivate my social media account as opposed to deleting it altogether? In most cases, yes. All the apps we included on our list allow you to deactivate your account. If you’re not sure you want to leave social media for good, you can put your account on hold and return when you’re ready.

How To Put Multiple Pictures On Instagram Story
One of the most widely-used social networking services, Instagram, has been constantly adapting to capture our ever-shrinking attention span. The platform offers a bunch of inspired tools to help us improve our social media game, but nothing has been quite as impactful as the introduction of Instagram Stories.
Snapchat and its followers were hard done by Instagram’s decision to incorporate Stories, as it was the Snap Inc-owned app that came up with the concept in its early days. In such a competitive market, no widely-celebrated feature stays exclusive for long, and neither did the concept of time-sensitive stories. Now, Facebook, WhatsApp, and even Twitter, too, have adopted the idea, and other apps, too, are expected to have it sooner than later.
Instagram Stories gives you the option to share a snippet of your life with the world, and you should have absolute control over it. Multiple story sharing is one of the key features in this regard and today, we’ll tell you all about it.

How many Stories can you add on Instagram?
As we’re dealing with adding multiple Stories, it’s important to know the upper limit for the same.
Instagram confirmed to Mashable that users can add up to 100 Stories — photo or video — in a 24-hour window, which should be enough for pretty much everyone — unless you’re uploading your complete wedding album, of course.

How to upload multiple photos to your Instagram story?
On both Android and iOS, you can upload multiple photos as your Instagram story. They’ll appear on your viewers’ screen consecutively — as per your upload order — one image/video after the other.
To add multiple slides to your Instagram story at once, first, log in to Instagram and tap on the camera icon at the top-left corner.
Tap on the square at the bottom-left corner to add images from your gallery. When your Gallery pops up, tap on the ‘Multiple photos’ icon at the top-right corner.
Now, pick multiple photos and tap on ‘Next.’ Customize the images you added, and again tap on ‘Next.’
On the next screen, tap on ‘Share’ next to ‘Your story.’
That’s it! All the pictures you added would go live as your Story.

How to add multiple photos to a single Instagram story?
Add multiple photos to a story on iPhone and iPad
If you’re an iPhone user, you could add multiple pictures to an Instagram story in a matter of seconds. First, fire up the Instagram app, tap on the camera icon at the top-left corner and add the background for your would-be montage.
Now, go to your device’s gallery, open a photo, and copy it. After copying it successfully, use the task switcher to jump back to Instagram. The image you copied would pop up as a sticker. Tap on it to add the image to your story. Resize, move, and add effects as you see fit. Similarly, you could add more such images and make it picture-perfect.

Add multiple photos to a single story on Android using Swiftkey
As mentioned, the ability to add multiple photos natively to a single Instagram story is currently only available on iOS. However, there are a couple of ways you could achieve the desired results on Android as well.
To do so, you’ll need the help of a popular Keyboard app — SwiftKey. Download the app from Google Play Store for free, set it as your default keyboard app, and grant it the permissions it requires to get started.
After you’re done, simply head over to Instagram and tap on the camera icon at the top-right corner of the UI. Now, select a picture that you’d use as the base of the collage.
Now, tap on the ‘Aa’ text button to bring up the SwiftKey Keyboard.
Then, tap on the emoji icon on the keyboard and go to the ‘Pin’ tab.
Tap on the little camera icon at the top-right corner of the SwiftKey UI and select an image from your gallery.
Tap on the paper plane icon to add it to your base image. Move, resize, and repeat.

Add multiple photos to a single story on Android using Samsung keyboard
If you happen to be a Samsung smartphone owner, you don’t need to download SwiftKey to add multiple images to a single photo. You can easily do so with the help of the native Samsung Keyboard app. Samsung Keyboard pins all your screenshots to its ‘Clipboard.’ So, as long as you screenshot — even resized ones — your favorite images, you’d be able to use them as a part of your Instagram story.
To add multiple images to a single story using the Samsung Keyboard, start off by adding the base image of your Insta story.
Tap on the ‘Aa’ text icon at the top-right corner to bring up Samsung Keyboard. Now, tap on the ‘…’ icon and go to ‘Clipboard.’
Pick an image you screenshotted earlier and it’ll be added to your base image.
Move, resize, and repeat to add multiple images.
Another option: Create a collage with Instagram Layout app
Instagram Layout is the platform’s very own collage-creating tool, which allows you to add multiple pictures to your story in a structured format. You can add up to 10 images to a single collage and pick a layout of your choice.
To get started, you’ll need to download the app from Google Play or App Store. Then, fire up the app, select a few images, and choose a layout.
On the next screen, you’ll see options to ‘Replace’ a slide, ‘Mirror’ or ‘Flip’ them, and even add ‘Borders.’ Once done, hit ‘Save.’
So, what’s your favorite method to add multiple photos to an Instagram story?
