If you are having difficulties connecting to the Uplay servers on Windows 10, then the below fixes may help you.
Can’t connect to Uplay servers, how do I fix it? 1. Software conflictSometimes if Windows Firewall is not up to date, it will cause problems when you open Uplay. If you update your firewall and the problem persists, then you will need to try turning off your firewall when you run Uplay.
Here is what you will need to do to turn off the Windows Firewall:
Then, open the Public (non-discoverable) network option located in the middle of the windows.
Locate the Windows Firewall option and turn it off.
If you utilize Virtual Private Networks (VPN) or Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) programs, then it is also recommended to shut them down.
These applications can interfere with the network of your Ubisoft games.

5. Flushing DNS files
Open up Windows start menu.
Type in command prompt.
Once the command prompt window appears, type in this command: ipconfig /flushdns.
Press Enter. You should see something like what is shown in the image below.
The DNS cache is what keeps the IP addresses of the web servers you have visited recently. It is possible that some of these files are corrupted or obsolete, which can hamper your internet connections with these servers.
Remember these instructions only work on Windows 10. Other versions of Windows will require different steps.
Check out this guide and learn to work in Command Prompt like a real expert!
6. Reset host filesWindows uses host files to map IP addresses to host names. Sometimes these files can have malicious entries. Thus, resetting can fix certain internet connection issues.
Here’s how you can reset host files:
Download this compressed default Host files. These files can be used not only for Windows 10.
Extract the compressed file and copy it to this folder: C:WindowsSystem32driversetc

The Internet has become a necessity of late, and we are connected to it for the most part of the day. Be it for work, social networking, or purchasing a product from an e-commerce website, you will require a stable Internet connection.
However, several users have reported encountering the Can’t connect to this network error in Windows 11.
This error prevents you from connecting to a network, which in most cases helps access the Internet. And, the worst part, it doesn’t mention what’s causing the problem, which makes the troubleshooting even more confusing.
Hence, before we head to the fixes, it’s imperative to have a look at the possible causes of the Windows 11 can’t connect to this network error.
What is causing the Windows 11 Can’t connect to this network error? While there can be a plethora of these, we have listed the common ones to help you get acquainted with the issue and save some time while troubleshooting.
Issues with the connection
Problems with the modem/router
Outdated or corrupt network driver
Misconfigured network settings
Running an older version of Windows 11
If you remember making any changes to the network settings in the recent past, try reverting to the previous one. In case that doesn’t help, simply follow the steps listed here to get rid of the Windows 11 can’t connect to this network error.
How can I fix the Can’t connect to this network Windows 11 error? 1. Some preliminary checksBefore we delve into a bunch of intricate fixes, it only makes sense to cross out the simpler ones at the very start.
1.1 Check if airplane mode is disabledAirplane mode basically cuts you off from any network. In case the mode is turned on, you may encounter the Windows 11 can’t connect to this network error. Disable the mode, and check if that fixes the problem.
1.2 Power off the modem/routerLike any other machine, the modem/router too needs rest for effective functioning. Though they are meant to run for days at a stretch, the internal components may heat up and cause issues.
To fix this, unplug the router/modem from the source, wait for at least 10 minutes and then replug it. Some come with internal batteries and continue to function even when disconnected, in which case, you will have to take out the batteries as well, to completely turn off the modem/router.
1.3 Check if you are able to access the network on other devicesAnother important aspect that often goes unnoticed is to identify whether the problem lies with the PC or the network itself. Hence, it’s recommended that you try connecting to the network using other devices.
If a connection is established on the other device, you can continue with the methods listed in the article, since the problem is limited to your PC.
1.4 Clean the ports and firmly replug the cableOver prolonged use, there are chances of dust buildup in the ports which may cause the Windows 11 can’t connect to this network error. Though the dust buildup is usually minor, it’s recommended that you clean the ports.
To do that, simply unplug the cables, lightly blow air into the ports, and then firmly replug the cables. Now, check if you are able to establish a connection with the network you were earlier facing issues with.
2. Restart your Windows 11 PCIf you encounter issues with the system, a simple restart should be your primary approach. When you restart the computer, the OS is reloaded and any trivial or minor bug causing the can’t connect to this network Windows 11 error is eliminated.
3. Reconnect to the network1. Press Windows + I to launch the Settings app.
2. Select Network & Internet from the tabs listed in the navigation pane on the left.
4. Press on Manage known networks.
The network connection settings may get corrupt or misconfigured over time, which can cause network connections errors. In this case, it’s best to forget the network and then reconnect to it to try to fix the can’t connect to this network Windows 11 error.
5. Run the Network adapter troubleshooterThe built-in troubleshooters offered by Microsoft are an easy way of resolving both trivial and intricate errors in Windows. Once it’s run, check if the issue is fixed.
The Device Manager method works as an offline update and only installs driver versions that already exist on the computer. If you haven’t downloaded any previously, it’s highly likely that the driver won’t be updated.
In this case, you can look for the latest driver version in Windows Update or manually download it from the manufacturer’s website.
Also, you can use a dedicated utility to update the drivers installed on your PC. We recommend using Outbyte Driver Updater, a third-party tool that automatically scans the web for a newer version and updates the installed drivers.
7. Disable VPN 8. Reset network settingsBefore resetting the network settings, make sure you save any open files so as to avoid data loss since the computer would be restarted during the process.
After the reset, Windows 11 can’t connect to this network error should be fixed.
Which is better, Ethernet or Wi-Fi?If you are facing issues with the network, it’s recommended that switch to Ethernet or simply wired networks. These are far more reliable than Wi-Fi networks where the connections are wireless.
That’s all there’s to this network connection error along with the most relevant fixes for it. In case these don’t work, you can try to reset Windows 11 to its factory settings or roll back to Windows 10 if the problem started after upgrading to Windows 11.
If you started encountering Internet issues after updating Windows, find out how to easily fix them.
Also, learn to solve issues with the hotspot in Windows 11 or resolve the Wi-Fi disappearing problem, in case the icon doesn’t appear altogether.

How To Connect Database In Java?
How to Connect Database in Java?
Hadoop, Data Science, Statistics & others
What is JDBC?JDBC stands for Java Database Connectivity, and it helps a Java program to perform different kinds of operations over the database, such as create, read, update, and delete. Also, JDBC is a Java API.
By using JDBC, a programmer should be able to:
Establish a connection with the database
Run SQL commands by sending them to the database
Interprets the results that come from a database
Creating a Database to Connect Database in JavaBefore working with JDBC, it is required to have a database to connect to it. We will be making use of the Oracle Database for the sake of our illustration. Please download the Oracle 11g express edition from the below link.
I already have Oracle 10g installer ready with me, as you can see below:
Source: From my desktop
Source: From my desktop

Source: From my desktop
Now once you log in, the very first screen that you will see will look like below:
Source: From my desktop
Source: From my desktop
As you can see, we have successfully created a table named Educba.
Connect Database in JavaA few interfaces and classes are used to connect to a database and perform operations using JDBC API.
We will explain one by one, but let me first present to you the below program:
Source: From my desktop
Below are the interfaces which we will be using to connect to the database and perform operations over it:
Driver Manager
Connection
Statement
Result set
Prepared statement
Let us look at the operations we can perform as a part of the JDBC operation.
Store the data from an entity to a database, i.e., they create an operation.
Retrieve the data to the entity or a bean from a database
Update the data for the entity or the bean in the database
Delete or remove the data on the entity or a bean from the database.
No matter what operation we perform, some basic steps would remain the same:
Load the driver.
class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver");Create a URL string
String url="jdbc:oracle:thin:@172:.26.132.40:1521:orclilp";Use the driver manager to create a connection
con=DriverManager.getConnection(URL, USERNAME, PASSWORD);Use Connection reference to create statement
stmt = conn.createStatement();Use a statement to execute the query
6. Process the result set ( optional, depends )
7. Release the resources in the final block.
IllustrationAs we use the Oracle database in our illustration, we need to have the required driver that Oracle should provide. The driver class is usually in the form of a jar file with the name chúng tôi This driver should be imported to your Java program as a part of “Referenced Libraries” if it is not there.
If you have installed Oracle 11g in your C folder, it can ideally be found in the below path: ( If it is not there, it can be easily downloaded from here )
C: oraclexe app oracle product 10.2.0 server jdbc lib
Source: From my desktop
Many jar files should be available; however, chúng tôi is the latest. The same can be used for our purpose. This jar should be added to the classpath of the project. Please check the below image.
Source: From my desktop
Let us create an artist table with the following attributes: ( You can directly run the SQL command line as a separate module of Oracle Express Edition. But first, you need to connect, and you can execute the “connect” command to connect to the database.
Source: From my desktop
As a part of this illustration, we would be creating three Java classes, i.e., Artist.java, CreateTable.java, and ArtistManagementDao.java, to achieve this.
Also, we must create a class called Artist Bean in the Java layer. This class should have attributes of the Artist with the above context. It will look like below:
Artist.javaLet us create two other Java classes with the name ArtistManagementDao and CreateTable.java.
ArtistManagementDao.java package com; import java.sql.Connection; import java.sql.DriverManager; import java.sql.PreparedStatement; import java.sql.SQLException; public class ArtistManagementDao { private final static String DRIVERNAME="oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"; private final static String URL="jdbc:oracle:thin:@LENOVO-PC:1521:XE"; private final static String USERNAME="System"; private final static String PASSWORD="Your DB password"; private Connection con =null; public void addArtist(Artist a) { try { Class.forName(DRIVERNAME); String sql="insert into Artist1 values (?,?)"; con=DriverManager.getConnection(URL, USERNAME, PASSWORD); PreparedStatement pst=con.prepareStatement(sql); pst.setString(1, a.getArtistID()); pst.setString(2, a.getArtistName()); pst.executeUpdate(); } catch (ClassNotFoundException e) { System.out.println(e); } catch (SQLException e) { System.out.println(e); } } }Explanation:
The Dao class helps us to isolate the application/business layer from the persistence layer. This is usually the relational database.
We have created a DB URL with your computer name and DB port number ( ideally 1521 ), preceded by JDBC:oracle:thin:@. Then, we created a username and password to pass these attributes during the Database connection. It is highly recommended to encrypt these values in the production environment.
Inside the addArtist method, we tried to establish our connection by following the steps we learned earlier using a conn statement.
We have used the insert method to push values from attributes to the database.
In the next statement, to test, we have the get statement to retrieve values from the database.
We have also tried to catch block for catching any exceptions and throwing out the same.
CreateTable.java package com; import java.sql.*; public class CreateTable{ static final String DB_URL = "jdbc:oracle:thin:@LENOVO-PC:1521:XE"; static final String USER = "System"; static final String PASS = "Your DB Password"; public static void main(String[] args) { Connection conn = null; Statement stmt = null; try{ ArtistManagementDao am=new ArtistManagementDao(); Artist a=new Artist(); Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver"); System.out.println("Connecting to a selected database..."); conn = DriverManager.getConnection(DB_URL, USER, PASS); System.out.println("Connected to database successfully"); System.out.println("Creating table"); stmt = conn.createStatement(); String sql = "CREATE TABLE Artist3 " + "(ArtistID varchar2(5) primary key not NULL, " + " ArtistName varchar2(25))"; stmt.executeUpdate(sql); System.out.println("Created table in given database..."); a.setArtistId("abc"); a.setArtistName("ankit"); am.addArtist(a); System.out.println("nArtistID="+a.getArtistID()+"nArtistName="+a.getArtistName()); }catch(SQLException se){ se.printStackTrace(); }catch(Exception e){ e.printStackTrace(); }finally{ try{ if(stmt!=null) conn.close(); }catch(SQLException se){ } try{ if(conn!=null) conn.close(); }catch(SQLException se){ se.printStackTrace(); } } } }Explanation:
We have created a DB URL with your computer name and DB port number ( ideally 1521 ), preceded by JDBC:oracle:thin:@. Then, we created a username and password to pass these attributes during the Database connection. It is highly recommended to encrypt these values in the production environment.
In the chúng tôi class, we created the objects “am” and “a” of the chúng tôi and chúng tôi class, respectively.
Then we tried to establish our connection by following the steps we learned earlier using a conn statement.
Then we created a table with the name Artist3 and updated the database or pushed this to the database using the execute the statement.
If we would like to assign values to the attributes, we will use the object we created for the artist class and note that this class will not insert the value into the database; it will be ArtistmanagementDao class. We already have stored values in attributes and will see in the day class how to push this to the database.
Finally, we have used the “am” object from ArtistManagementDao to pass this object “a” to the method addArtist() of ArtistManagementDao java class.
We have also tried to catch block for catching any exceptions and throwing out the same.

We can all agree and acknowledge that a VPN can save you from a lot of hassle. From a connection’s privacy and security standpoint, of course.
The VPN client should handle every other step so that you can enjoy a clean, secure, and private browsing experience without putting too much time and effort into it.
But things might not be so great all the time, since VPN, like any other software, is prone to occasional errors. Not errors per se, but issues.
Either way, sometimes certain VPN events might hinder your ability to enjoy this type of service as you should.
For instance, you might discover that you can’t delete a VPN connection from your PC.
Note that this is not the same as not being able to disconnect from your VPN, which we previously covered. Turns out there are a few steps you can take if you discover you’re suddenly unable to pull the plug on your connection.
However, not being able to remove a VPN connection profile from your computer has some different implications. And naturally, it can be solved in a different manner.
How to delete a VPN connection? 1. Uninstall the VPN app
Hit the Win key on your keyboard
Type Add or remove
Select the Add or remove programs option
Locate the VPN app you wish to remove from your PC
Select the VPN app
Follow the on-screen instructions to proceed with the removal
Once the uninstall process comes to an end, you shouldn’t be able to see a VPN profile any longer.
Reliable VPNs such as Private Internet Access treat privacy seriously and keep a clean shop, whether it’s installation or removal we’re talking about.
2. Remove the VPN connection manually
On Windows 10, open the Settings app
Head to the Network & Internet section
Locate your VPN connection profile
Select Delete from the context menu
That should’ve removed any old connection profile that still lingered after you’ve uninstalled the client. Note that attempting to delete an active connection won’t work.
Thus, make sure you’ve uninstalled the app before you attempt to delete the VPN connection profile. If a connection is active, or the VPN client still installed/service still running, the Delete option will be greyed-out.
On Windows 10, hit the Win key on your keyboard
Type Device on your keyboard
Select Device Manager from the Start Menu
Expand the Network adapters section in the manager
Select Uninstall from the combo menu
Confirm its removal
That’s it, you’ve managed to delete a VPN connection from your computer entirely. Not only have you removed the client, but also made sure that there’s no residual connection profile or TAP driver associated with the VPN on your computer.
Sometimes it’s necessary to perform these seemingly useless operations, as many VPN providers intentionally leave these files behind.
The reason why they do this is that if you change your mind one day and reinstall their service, the process will be less complicated.
However, multiple TAP drivers and/or connection profiles that are no longer used or working might impede another VPN’s ability to run as intended. This type of situation creates conflicts between VPN software and should be avoided.
Deleting a VPN connection is not a complicated taskAll things considered, removing a VPN connection from your computer entirely is not exactly rocket science.
The bottom line is that some VPN clients will intentionally leave some residual files behind. The reason why they resort to this is that you might want to reinstall their service later on, and if you do, the service can simply pick up where it left.
However, if you’re pondering on removing your VPN to replace it with another service, it would be a wise thing to perform the steps we’ve described above.
Keeping old configuration files, connection profiles and TAP drivers can seriously affect your new VPN’s ability to perform as intended.
Your connection is not secure – websites you visit can find out your details:
Use a VPN to protect your privacy and secure your connection.
We recommend Visit Private Internet Access
We recommend Private Internet Access , a VPN with a no-log policy, open source code, ad blocking and much more; now 79% off.

In order to address this, we provided the list of the most viable solutions. If you’re not seeing any definition updates for Windows Defender, move gradually through the list.
1. Check for updatesAll chances are that you already tried this. As you already know, the Defender’s updates for virus and spyware protection come via Windows Update. However, as we already saw so many times before, these updates tend to misbehave. In order to surpass the automatic distribution (which is obviously failing in this case), you can navigate to Windows Defender Security Center and check for updates by hand.
Follow these steps to update Windows Defender via Security Center:
Open Windows Defender Security Center from the Notification area.
Choose Virus & threat protection.
Open Virus & threat protection updates.
If the error is persistent, follow the additional steps we provided below.
2. Make sure there’s no a third-party antivirus installedNow, you already know that there’s no place for two antimalware solutions on Windows 10. Or any Windows iteration, for that matter. If you decide to place your trust in a third-party antivirus, Windows Defender will be disabled automatically. Now, if you, in the meantime, decide to use Windows Defender instead, it’s really important to delete all traces of the third-party antivirus which preceded it.
READ ALSO: Best Antivirus software to use in 2023 for your Windows 10 PC
So, a thorough clean up is necessary in order for Windows Defender to work without any issues. You can navigate around and clean the associated files on your own, or use a third-party tool which will do it for you. There’s a huge list of available Uninstallers and Cleaners, so we recommend checking our list of the best available tools.
These tools will clear all remaining files and, after a restart, Windows Defender should work fine. However, if that’s not the case, there are a few more things you can do.
3. Restart servicesRestarting the dedicated service for Security Center might help, as well. If Windows Defender is active, this service should automatically start with the system. However, due to a minor bug, certain system services tend to stop. Also, by restarting the service at hand, you’ll restart the system application, and this just might get Windows Defender going.
Here’s where to find the service and how to restart it:
Type services in the Windows Search bar, and open Services from the list of results.
Navigate to “Security Center” service and make sure it’s running.
4. Run SFCWhen the built-in system resources start failing, the troubleshooting steps we commonly use on third-party applications are out of the reach. What we can do instead is employing the built-in tools. One commonly-used tool for addressing system errors is System File Checker also known as SFC. This tool runs through a command line and it verifies the integrity of system files.
Here’s how to run SFC in Windows 10:
In the command-line, type sfc/scannow and press Enter.
Wait until the procedure ends and restart your PC.
Try updating Windows Defender’s virus and spyware definition again.
5. Use CMD to enforce the updatesExpert tip:
Follow these steps to enforce Windows Defender updates with Command Prompt:
In the command-line, copy-paste the following lines and press Enter:
MpCmdRun.exe -SignatureUpdate
After that, press Enter again to update signatures and restart your PC.
6. Check Group PolicyAs we already said, when you install a third-party antivirus, Windows Defender automatically disables. The system will see to it. However, if you’ve changed your mind, getting back to Windows Defender can, for some users, be quite a chore. Namely, in order to re-establish Windows Defender, you’ll need to confirm that the feature is enabled in the Group Policy Editor.
Here’s what you’ll need to do:
Type group policy in Windows Search, and open “Edit group policy“.
Navigate to: Computer Configuration/Administrative Templates/Windows Components/Windows Defender Antivirus.
Make sure the “Turn off Windows Defender Antivirus” is disabled or not configured.
If you can’t access the GPE, there’s still a way to re-enable Windows Defender. You can navigate to Registry Editor and make some needed changes. However, please do be careful, as these are the risky grounds and a misuse can lead to critical system damage.
Follow these steps to tweak Defender-related Registry settings:
Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREPoliciesMicrosoftWindows Defender.
Change its value to 0 (zero) and exit Registry Editor.
7. Download updates manuallyIf the issue is persistent and Windows just won’t comply, you can try to update the virus and spyware database manually. Namely, all latest definitions are stored online, on a dedicated website. You can navigate there and download fitting definition updates, depending on your OS version (Windows 10 or Windows 8/8.1) and the system architecture.
Follow these steps to install updates for Windows Defender manually:
Navigate to the official site with definition updates, here.
Scroll down and download the proper version suiting your system’s version and architecture.
Install it like any other application and restart your PC.
8. Reset PC to factory valuesFinally, if you’re still unable to resolve the issue at hand after all previous steps, we suggest restoring Windows to its default values. This is much better than the reinstallation, as you get to keep your files. This is more of a refresh for the system and it’s a viable last resort if system features are giving you a hard time.
Follow these steps to reset your PC to factory settings:
Press Windows key + I to open
Settings.
Choose
Update & Security.
Select
Recovery.
Choose to
keep the files and continue with the resetting procedure.
That’s it. We hope this was an informative read and that you’re now able to update Windows Defender without issues. You need that definition up-to-date at all the times, so it’s quite dangerous to neglect it.
