Fix : Bad_Module_Info Error In Windows 10/11
When the computer is low on resources, like physical and graphic memory, the error “bad_module_info” can pop up, crashing your application. Due to this, you might lose any progress on the application/games.
To fix the crash, you should know the error that is displayed in the crash-dialog box. If the error says “bad_module_info has stopped working”, you can find a few of the causes and their solutions below.
Bad_module_info is a type of error that can show up while running games or applications. Low memory on the graphics card can lead to these crashes while running some graphics-heavy tasks. Corrupted files can also cause your applications or games to crash mid-session.
The main reason we see the “bad_module_info” is if the computer is low on primary memory (especially RAM) and graphics memory. Now, let us get to some reasons your computer is low on resources.
Multiple graphics-heavy tasks in the background
Full-screen optimization enabled
Problems with Windows update
Outdated graphics driver
Application not compatible with the Windows version
Game mode and Xbox game bar enabled
First, make sure that the computer has enough primary and graphics memory to run the application. Check the minimum system requirements for the applications. If the application still crashes despite having enough resources, you can opt for any of these solutions.
When any game runs on maximum FPS (Frames Per Second), it uses a lot of physical and video memory. Try limiting the in-game FPS for less resource consumption. For most games, you can limit the maximum FPS in video settings.
The Fullscreen Optimization feature in Windows allows you to improve the FPS and performance of your game when it runs on full screen. This option is on by default for any games that run on full screen. However, this can also be one of the reasons for the error message. So, to disable this feature, you can follow these steps.
The executable file will be a .exe file with no shortcut sign on the icon. To find the executable file follow these steps.
A file explorer dialog box will now appear. Some games will have the .exe file on this dialog box. If you cannot find it, search inside the folders for the file.
Note: Your in-game FPS will decrease once you disable this feature.
While you are on this screen, enable the run as administrator option. Running a program as an admin gives the computer more resources to run the application.
If the application is old, it might not be compatible with the latest Windows. The Compatibility Mode allows older applications to operate on newer versions of Windows. To run a program on different compatibility modes, follow these steps.
Sometimes a bad Windows update can cause some incompatibility issues between the OS (Operating System) and the application. You can use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to find and fix any issues with the Windows update.
Restart the computer once it finishes the troubleshooting process. If the game still crashes with the error bad_module_info, you can revert to the previous stable version.
If the Windows Update Troubleshooter did not fix your issue with the update, you can always uninstall the recent updates. Follow these steps to uninstall Windows updates.
If you have some graphic-heavy process running in the background, the computer can run out of physical and graphics memory. To close the background applications, you can follow these steps.
Some applications may not be compatible with your Windows, which can cause the bad_module_error. The Program Compatibility Troubleshooter checks and repairs your program that is incompatible with the version of your windows. Follow these steps to run the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter.
Game Mode is a feature in Windows that boosts your in-game performance by limiting the resource used by the background process. Xbox game bar is a tool that streams your gameplay, captures your gameplay with a press of a button.
Sometimes, a Windows update or any driver update can cause the Game mode or Xbox game bar to malfunction which causes the error. You can follow these steps to disable the Windows Game Mode and Xbox Game Bar.
When a game runs on full-screen windowed mode, it doesn’t use high resources. Therefore, you can run your games with a slight decrease in performance.
To enter a full-screen mode in any game, go to video settings and select display mode to Windowed Fullscreen.
If a computer running an application runs low on memory, you might get the bad_module_info error. If you have an outdated driver, updating it might help with resource management. To update your GPU drivers, you can follow these steps.
If you face the bad_module_info crash on Fortnite, you can disable the full-screen optimization of the Epic Games launcher. As Epic Games runs in the background while running Fortnite, disabling this option can solve the issue.
To go to Epic Games Launcher executable file, follow these steps.
When the crash error pops up, check if the game still runs in the background. If it does, you can follow these steps.
Go to video settings once the game opens.
Change the window mode to windowed fullscreen.
Apply the settings and close Fortnite.
Open Fortnite. (the crash will pop up again. Ignore this and set the crash message dialog box to the side)
Again change the Window mode setting from Windowed Fullscreen to Fullscreen.
This will put Fortnite in the foreground and the crash message in the background. This will make your game playable even with the crash.
Validating any steam games will repair any corrupted files and check if all files are up-to-date. These corrupted files can cause errors, like loading screen glitches, crashes (bad_modle_info). To validate your steam games, please follow these steps.

A homegroup is simply a network or group of computers on a home network that can easily share files such as pictures, music, videos, and documents, and/or printers with other people in the same group. And, for those using it, Windows 10 HomeGroup error isn’t something users expect.
The group can be password protected, but other people cannot change files shared unless you grant them permission to do so.
Once you create and/or join a homegroup, you can then select the libraries you want to share, and even prevent specific files/folders from being shared, or share other libraries later.
This feature is available on Windows 7/8.1/RT 8.1 and Windows 10, and you can join a homegroup on a computer with the RT 8.1 version, but you cannot create a homegroup or share content with the same.
For Windows 7 Starter or Home Basic, you can actually join, but you cannot create a homegroup.
If you get the Windows 10 homegroup error, you could try preliminary checks like ensuring you have the latest firmware for your router (must be IPv6 capable to use the homegroup), try both a wired (check cable) and wireless connection, check that all computers have unique names and that all computers have the same time and date.
Once you confirm that all these are in order, try the solutions listed in this article and see if they help resolve the issue on your network.
Steps to fix Windows 10 Homegroup errors 1. Run Homegroup troubleshooter
Type troubleshooting in the search bar of the Control Panel.
Select Advanced on the Homegroup troubleshooter dialog box.
— RELATED: FIX: Can’t connect to Homegroup via WiFi on Windows 10, 8.1
2. Make Internet Explorer your default browser
Select Programs.
Select Internet Explorer 11.
Try and print the homegroup password.
3. Delete and create a new homegroupIf every user in the homegroup leaves, then the homegroup will no longer exist. To remove a computer from a homegroup, follow the steps below:
Type Homegroup in the search bar and open it.
Repeat the steps with the other computers.
Once the Homegroup is deleted, start with a new Homegroup again using the steps below:
Open HomeGroup by typing homegroup in the search box on the taskbar, and then selecting HomeGroup.
Select Create a homegroup
Select the libraries and devices you want to share with the homegroup, and then select Next.
A password will appear – print it or write it down. You’ll need this password to add other PCs to your homegroup.
Select Finish
Note: If a homegroup already exists on your network, you’ll be asked to join it instead of creating a new one.
— RELATED: How to: Remove Homegroup on Windows 10
4. Enable Homegroup servicesThe Windows 10 homegroup error may occur if the homegroup services are not running, so ensure the services related to it are started and running by doing the following:
Type services.msc and press enter.
Find these services: Peer Name Resolution Protocol, Peer Networking Grouping, and Peer Networking Identity Manager.
Ensure Startup type is set to Automatic.
Ensure Service Status is started.
Restart the computer and check if you can view the Homegroup Password
5. Check if the homegroup settings are appropriate
Open Start and select Control Panel.
Select Network and Internet.
Select Advanced Sharing settings and check if they’re correct.
Expert tip:
In case the settings are correct, try your homegroup again. If not, set them to the appropriate ones and try again. If you still get the Windows 10 homegroup error, try the next solution.

6. Run the Network Adapter troubleshooter
Type troubleshooting in the search bar.
Select Troubleshooting.
Select View all on the top left corner.
Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.
If the issue persists then update the Network Adapter driver manually from the Device Manager.
7. Change the name caseSometimes the Windows 10 homegroup error may be caused simply because of the letter casing on the computer name – this can manifest as an error 1231 in the network view.
If it is in lower case, change to upper case or all caps, and see if it works. Some users have noted that Windows 10 is case sensitive to machine names, so if you have missing shares or completely disappeared machines on your LAN, ensure the machine names are not mixed case, in which case you should rename them to all caps and reboot your computer.
Here’s what to do:
Change Computer name on the next screen.
Reboot your computer.
8. Check Use User Accounts and passwordsOn every computer in the workgroup, do the following:
Select Network and Internet.
Check the Use User accounts and passwords box to connect to other computers.
— RELATED: The user account is currently disabled and cannot be used [Fix]
9. Rollback to the previous versionIf you still cannot fix Windows 10 homegroup error, you can either wait for the official Microsoft fix it, or perform a rollback to the previous Windows version, using the steps below:
Select Updates & security.
Choose Recovery.
Try and connect to your Homegroup again.
10. Turn on Windows servicesFor the homegroup networking feature to work, certain Windows services need to be active, enabled and running. If you used a program to disable services or you disabled them manually, it may be causing Windows 10 homegroup error. You need to turn on DNS Client, Function Discovery Provider Host, Function Discovery Resource Publication, Homegroup Provider, Homegroup Listener, SSDP Discovery, UPnP Device Host and Peer Networking Grouping.
You can turn on these services by doing the following:
Type services.msc and press enter.
11. Check Network Discovery
Select Network and Internet.
Choose turn on network discovery or turn off network discovery.
12. Unblock your computer’s visibilitySometimes, the firewall on your computer may block the access and visibility of your computer, leading to the Windows 10 homegroup error. Try using the command prompt to fix this by doing the following:
Exit the command prompt.
Reboot your PC and see if the problem still appears.
13. Ensure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled on both computers
Choose Start and select Control Panel.
Select Network and Internet.
Find Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Version 4 in the list.
On the Advanced TCP/IP settings windows, go to “WINS” tab.
14. Modify IPv6 registry key to enable IPv6CurrentControlSetServicesTcpip6Parameters.
Check whether the “DisabledComponents” registry key exists.
There you have an amazing list of 14 solutions that you can use to fix Homegroup errors on your Windows computers.

Fix Pink Screen Of Death Error In Windows 11/10
The Blue Screen of Death is one of the most common software issues on Windows computers. Most of you must’ve had to deal with it at some point of using your PC. Another issue, one that many of you may not be aware of, is the Pink Screen of Death. Like the BSOD, this issue occurs when your PC goes through software and hardware failures. Like BSOD, the screen goes pink every time it occurs. In this article, we will discuss the various measures you can take to fix the Pink Screen of Death issue in Windows 11/10.
Fix Pink Screen of Death in Windows 11/10The Pink Screen of Death occurs in Windows 11 or Windows 10 if the computer is overheating or if there is an issue with your Graphics card Drivers. You may follow these suggestions to resolve the issue:
Install the necessary Graphic card drivers and optional updates
Check the temperature of your graphic card’s GPU
Troubleshoot in Clean Boot State
Use an uninstaller to completely uninstall problematic third-party apps
Show it to a technician.
1] Install the necessary Graphic card drivers and optional updatesIt is very likely that this issue has been caused because your computer lacks the necessary Display drivers, and if that is the case, then you need to search for and install them. After the Windows 11 upgrade, you can install drivers from your Windows settings and you don’t need to visit the Device Manager page. Here’s how you can search for optional updates and pending driver updates on Windows 11:
Open Windows Settings with the Win + ‘I’ keyboard shortcut
On the Windows Update page select Advanced options
Here, you’ll see an option with the name Driver updates. If there are any pending updates, they’ll be denoted in parentheses.
Once done, wait and see if the error persists.

2] Check the temperature of your graphic card’s GPUIf you’re a gamer or someone whose PC usage can be strenuous (maybe your work has something to do with data), then overheating can cause this reaction on your PC. If you think a high GPU temperature is what’s causing this error, check it up. You can do so using the Task Manager or even a third-party software depending on your GPU. Here’s how you can use the Task Manager to check the GPU temperature:
Open the Task Manager and select to view more details
Here, you’ll see the sectional division of the performance of your CPU, D: & E: Disk, GPU, etc.

3] Troubleshoot in Clean Boot StatePerform a Clean Boot to find out what’s causing this issue to occur and fix it. Here’s how that can be done:
Open the Run command window and enter ‘msconfig’ command
In the General tab, under Selective Startup, select ‘Load startup items’
Clean-boot troubleshooting is designed to isolate a performance problem. To perform clean-boot troubleshooting, you must take a number of actions, and then restart the computer after each action. You may need to manually disable one item after another to try and pinpoint the one that is causing the problem. Once you have identified the offender, you can consider removing or disabling it.
Fix: Green Screen of Death (GSoD) in Windows
4] Use an uninstaller to completely uninstall harmful third-party appsIt is very likely that a third-party app is counteracting your current processes, so you should make sure that any app that you’re unsure about is uninstalled from your PC. Sometimes, these apps can leave behind some corrupt files and registry keys that may cause the error to persist, so take the help of an uninstaller program like Revo, IOBit Uninstaller, etc.
5] Show it to a technicianIf nothing helps, you may need to show your computer to a technician – It could be a hardware issue.
Why is my computer screen suddenly pink?If your computer screen is showing a pink tint then a burn-in caused by LCD crystals not changing polarity can also create this issue. This would be caused by a faulty driver chip inside the screen. Other than this, overheating or a problematic Display driver can cause this issue.
We hope this post was helpful and that you’ve now gotten rid of the Pink Screen of Death issue on your Windows computer.
